Brush guard for 98 jeep cherokee sport?

i have a 98 jeep cherokee sport and want to buy a brush guard for off-roading. I found one by warned that is alright, but not the one im really crazy about...I did however find another one that fits a 98 jeep grand cherokee. I wanted to know if This one would fit my jeep, if they are inter-changable. Also do you have advice on installing them?Brush guard for 98 jeep cherokee sport?
Check out the website below for another style of bumper for the Jeep Cherokee (XJ). I like this style, but it is pretty pricey. No, the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee are not interchangeable. If they are made for the vehicle they should just bolt on with the holes already available.

Have fun.Brush guard for 98 jeep cherokee sport?
Look in Quadratec.com
No the one for the GC will not fit. As for quadratec.com they specialize in the JEEP type vehicles (CJ, YJ, TJ).
Ok I have a 98 JGC and I havent found any I am crazy about. I dont not believe it will fit because of the mounting brackets as I believe the JGC has a different nose than the Cherokee. I would contact the manufacture and ask them.

If kids dont eat sweets and brush teeth twice a day, can this avoid cavities?

ive heard people say, even brushing and avoiding sweets some kids **** still prone to getting holes,, is this true?If kids dont eat sweets and brush teeth twice a day, can this avoid cavities?
Yup, You can avoid anything you want and you can STILL Get Cavaties, as it comes from a variety of sources. However, My husband doesn't have one cavity, and he eats sweets, candy and soda like there is no tommorow. The best thing to do with children from their very first dental appointment is for the dentist to seal their teeth, making them less prone to cavaties in the first place. If kids dont eat sweets and brush teeth twice a day, can this avoid cavities?
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be well taken care of. Report Abuse

i ate sweets growing up and didn't have a cavity until I was 22. I'm 24 now. I guess it doesn't matter. You just have to take care of your teeth as much as possible. I believe all foods can give you cavities if you don't take care of your teeth.
only if they're lucky. When I was a kid I brushed my teeth about once a day and ate so much junk and I still don't have any cavities.

Ive heard that its bad to brush your teeth immediately after eating and that you should wait a half hour. T/F?

Somewhat true, if you eat/drink something very acidic (orange juice, sodas, etc) your enamel will be weaker afterwards and it might be better to wait a little while first, but not if this keeps you from brushing them. Generally, I have people brush first thing in the morning and before bed really well and if you want fresher breath after the meals, just run in and gently slap some toothpaste on your teeth and brush your tongue well. Also, try not to rinse after this, just spit, and do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes and you also get a fluoride treatment which helps stregthen teeth. Most people rinse their toothpaste off which is good for small children, but adults need the fluoride to keep cavities away.Ive heard that its bad to brush your teeth immediately after eating and that you should wait a half hour. T/F?
He is right.Ive heard that its bad to brush your teeth immediately after eating and that you should wait a half hour. T/F?
False.

If you let that stuff sit on your teeth your teeth are going to absolb some of that. What you dont realize is that your teeth absorb fluids. The reason for saliva is digestion, but then you may ask why do you salivate if your not eating? The reason for that is because you have minerals in your saliva that help your teeth to remineralize when you have an incipient cavity. It also helps to flush away stuff that you do have in your mouth. Drinking Coke and sugary drinks isnt what you big concern is, they leave the oral cavity quickly and the saliva helps to wash away most of the sugars on your teeth. Its things like Jube Jubes and skittles or anything that actually STICKS to your teeth that you need to get off your teeth right away!
T. Some foods and drinks contain acid, like citric acid in fruit. This acid slightly melts the outer layer of your teeth, making it softer, which can then be brushed off with vigorous brushing. Thus, wait half an hour before brushing, especially for foods/drinks that are highly acidic.

Where can I go online to brush up on Word and Excel for a new job?

I just got a new job working in customer service and other assorted office duties... but I need to brush up on Word and Excel so I don't encounter any problems with not knowing what to do... is there anything online that I can review both of them? I start the job tomorrow...Where can I go online to brush up on Word and Excel for a new job?
I think Bill Jelen (aka Mr. Excel) has the best on line tutorials, and they are completely free. I put a link to the list of the currently available tutorials below. There's over 100 of them.

I also put a link to the iTunes download in case you don't already have iTunes (also free), which is required to play the tutorials.

The tutorials are worth the bother of installing iTunes. They're excellent.

  • There is a smell when i brush my teeth or chew those whitening gums with aspartame?

after i brush my teeth or chew that type of gum there is a smell, but not when i chew gum with regular sugar, why is that? There is a smell when i brush my teeth or chew those whitening gums with aspartame?
aspertame is very powdery, and it' could be like when you fill a bucket with sand and the powder flies up and all around, that's probably what you smell. There is a smell when i brush my teeth or chew those whitening gums with aspartame?
    HELLO,

THE GUM WITH SUGAR HAS NO AFTERTASTE BECAUSE SUGAR IS VERY PALATABLE. THE ASPARTAME GUM HAS AN AFTERTASTE BECAUSE IT IS AN ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENT.
It is probably the aspertane or just the smell of the water when you are done brushing your teeth I wouldn't be worried I would cut back on the sugared pop though.
    Aspartame Dont use it!

Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?

Mysister always gags when she brushes her teeth, it is really annoying!Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?
My husband does. He also has a very sensitve gag reflex though. I almost never gag when I brush my teeth though. I think it has to do with how far back you stick the toothbrush when brushing your tongue and also with your gag reflex in general.Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?
i gag if i put the toothbrush too far back inside my mouth, especially if i try to brush my tongue.but it don't seem to be a problem for my siblings.
Psh then she shouldn't brush too far back! If it's her toungue she's brushing then she needs to chill and use mouthwash instead. If she is brushing her back teeth then she is brushing too hard and pushing too hard.
No, either she's doing it wrong, has a flare for the dramatic, or needs her tonsils out.
No, It's all about personal gag reflexes.
I do. It's annoying to be the person gagging, too. It especially happens if I drink too much coffee on an empty stomach.
I gag when I brush the back of my tongue not when I brush my teeth.
my daughter and i do if we brush too far back on our tongues.
it's very annoying when that happens. but i would have to say alot of people gag when they brush their teeth.
No when I brush my tongue I gag.The tongue should be brushed also
Hold your nose and the gag reflex disappears
only when i brush too far back on my tongue.
    tell her to swallow lol
It depends on the way he/she brushes the teeth. If you brush touches the sides or the back of the oral cavity, or even the posterior part of your tongue, there is a chance that gag reflex will occur. These areas that i mentioned are innervated by the sensory branch of our vagus nerve (Cranial nerve 10). Once a stimulus is given (like touch or pressure), gag reflex will occur.

Try not to reach those ';far'; areas with your toothbrush. But take note that gag reflex is a good sign that your vagus nerve is properly functioning, because vagus nerve also innervates the other parts of the body such as the intestines myenteric and meissner's plexuses.

Why aren't you supposed to brush hair after removing do rag?

ppl say not to because it will ruin some wave pattern. if im not supposed how long do i wait ?Why aren't you supposed to brush hair after removing do rag?
Most guys I know just put grease on it and dont brush it until after they wash it the next week.

It really depends on the definition you want your waves to have . The longer you go without brushing, the more defined your waves will be / It also depends on the length of your hair. The shorter the more faint the wave pattern will be .

How does a cordless tooth brush charge?

the base of the brush has no contacts, its totally sealed with no contacts that i can see, neither does the chargin base....any ideas...thanksHow does a cordless tooth brush charge?
Ah, this once mystified me too...

The base has a coil in it, which is connected to the AC mains supply. The toothbrush also has a coil of wire in its bottom, so when the two are next to each other (but not touching), a voltage is induced in the toothbrush's coil, giving a current to charge its battery.

Therefore, there doesn't have to be any metal-on-metal contact as the coils can be a couple of millimeters away for charging to happen. How does a cordless tooth brush charge?

How can I make my teeth really white without using whitening? I brush a lot.?

I read baking soda and peroxide works. Read also strawberries and oranges are natural teeth whiteners. Keep up with reg cleanings. Good luck! How can I make my teeth really white without using whitening? I brush a lot.?
The bottom line is you will get what you pay for.

You could get Crest Whitestrips..they are good..but not great.

They will make your teeth whiter, but it won't last as long as professional bleaching. Yes, this may cost more, but it will last you a lot longer.

You could use a whitening toothpaste. However, these are very abrasive, and would be similar to taking sandpaper to your teeth.

Go to your dentist, get a cleaning and such done, and pay for bleaching. You will be happier in the long run.How can I make my teeth really white without using whitening? I brush a lot.?
A thorough cleaning and polishing at the dentist.

  • How can you straighten your brush? Please answer!?

The square-looking brushes. Like... for post colors.

How can I straighten it? With alcohol? pressure? How can you straighten your brush? Please answer!?
What did you do? Leave them sitting in water and found them permanently bent? LOL I have made that mistake in the past. NEVER LEAVE YOUR BRUSHES DIRTY OR SITTING IN WATER. As soon as you are through painting rinse them out and put a little soap on the bristles and gently work in through and then rinse thoroughly. This will keep your brushes nice for a long time. It is much cheaper than buying new brushes all the time... believe me I learned the hard way.

If you need to reshape your brushes clean them good and then put soap in them and form the bristles the way you want them to be and let it dry. It won't hurt your brush and it helps it keep its shape until your bristles are retrained to be straight. You can rinse the soap out later before you use them again.

If all else fails take a small piece of aluminum foil and wrap around the bristles and flatten the way you want the bristles to be and let dry. Good luck. Next time wash them out right away and lay them flat to dry and you won't have this problem. How can you straighten your brush? Please answer!?
I did this twice and it worked pretty well. But I tested on a brush I didn't care about. I took Elmer's washable glue and put it in my brush and then formed the bristles how I wanted them and let it dry. Kept it like that for a few days, and then washed it out with warm water. Worked pretty well on the natural bristles of my oil brushes.

As I said you might want to test it on one first. I wasn't really sure how it was going to work myself. Might try it as a last resort since the other ideas seem pretty good as well.
This is a long shot. Bent hair are usually evidence of either bad brushes or abuse. Usually it means the end of the brushes life.

Clean thoroughly and wrap paper around the brush. Leave the top open. Flatten (only if it is a flat brush) and apply light pressure with a book. Do not squish just ensure the flat shape stays. Let dry over night. Pray a lot and maybe, just maybe your hairs will be straight again.

Do you have any clever ideas to get a toddler to willingly brush her teeth?

there is a listerine mouth wash, i think its listerine but it has agent blue stuff in it and it helps kids know where to brush, that might make it fun.Do you have any clever ideas to get a toddler to willingly brush her teeth?
Willingly, no. My husband holds my son down and tickles him, and when he opens his mouth to laugh, I go in with the toothbrush.Do you have any clever ideas to get a toddler to willingly brush her teeth?
Make it a contest you tell her that mommy and her are going to see who can bush longest and the winner gets to pick what you will do that day for fun. It worked with mine and they didn't realize that they are brushing for the recommended time I even got then to use mouth wash and floss ( they are 7 now) .
I tell my four year old that if she doesn't when she gets her big girl teeth they are going to rot and be real ugly and she brushes them right away.
Tell her she gets some stickers or a cookie at the end of the week, works on my three little girls.
Cool, I just saw a commercial for the new mouthwash for kids, it's made by Listerine and it is dark blue (I believe it's called Listerine Agent Cool Blue). The mouthwash has an ingredient that turns plaque blue. Anyway, the kids brush their teeth, then rinse with the mouthwash, and if there is any blue on their teeth when they spit out the wash, then they know they need to re-brush those areas. Kids think its cool because it turns their teeth blue! But once the teeth are properly clean, the blue is gone. I remember something like this when I was a kid, but it was little white tablets that tasted like cherries, and turned your teeth red if they weren't clean enough. We liked it, and we brushed more, too! Good luck with your little one and the brushing!
We just bought our older children (6 and 4) toothbrushes that, when squeezed, have a light that flashes for 60 seconds. They love checking to make sure the light is still flashing, and know when it stops, their teeth are clean.
There are plenty of books for toddlers about brushing their teeth, washing their hands, etc. But, in my experiences - my kids would rather hear a book about fire trucks or barbie pretending to be rapunzel, then about brushing their teeth.

Next time you're at the store - have the child pick out the toothbrush. More than likely they'll pick out a battery operated one. My son found a fire truck one, and now loves to brush his teeth.

Also, buy a toothpaste of a bubblegum flavor (NOT bubblegum mint - yuck!). Or berry. Make sure it's not mint. Most toddlers don't like mint. Have your child also pick this out.

Keep a routine. Always brush your teeth after breakfast. And before bedtime. Keep it at the same time every day. That way, you can just announce what time it is, and the child will know what to do. After that, it becomes habit.

And good routines, become good habits.
My son never wanted to brush his teeth. One day, out of the blue, I just said that if he doesn't brush his teeth there will be ';teeth buggies'; in his mouth. That was enough for him. He now brushes his teeth without any problems.
My 2 %26amp; 4yr olds love to brush their teeth. I think it's that ';Sponge Bob'; toothpaste that gets them excited. You should try some different flavors out, that way you won't have too much trouble with it. They don't usually like minty stuff, it burns their tongue. Look for something fruity, or bubble gum flavored (that's our favorite) thay even have vanilla flavored (that's what my 15yr old likes. Don't give up, some kids just don't like to brush.
A toothbrush with her fav cartoon .....worked for mine
Have you tried Orajels begginers toothpaste. Finally worked for my kids
try to make it a game and give them rewards for doing it my two nieces love brushing their teeth it makes them feel like big girls to be able to act grown that is another idea but all kids are different so you just got try different things and stick with it for a few weeks to really give each idea a chance to work
Incentives are great! Stickers, new toothbrush, whatever works for her. Frankly, I'm having a hard time getting my 12 year old son to be motivated to brush his teeth!
If you can find a doll with open mouth, sometimes in old toys shop, or just a doll with a mouth, and give the toothbrush to your toddler, and tell him or her how to brush the doll's teeth. It may work. Then hold up a plastic cup to the doll's mouth and tell him or her to give them water to rinse afterward. They love to imitate, Try it, it may work.
Use the bubble gum toothpaste...it taste great and she will love to brush her teeth
let her do it for a little bit and then you do it for a little make it like a shareing game. She will evtually get her teeth cleaned DO NOT force her if she doesn't want to do it. If she does not brush her teeth for a couple days it is still better than traumatizing her then she will never really do a good job.
I let my little boy pick out his toothbrushes and then we make up ';games'; to play while WE brush (this way he sees me and hubby brushing too).... who can brush all their teeth the BEST, who can hold keep brushing until the buzzer goes off (I set a timer for two minutes and act like I am struggling to make it and then he is the winner). I also use a chore chart and he gets tokens for chores he does and when he has tokens saved up he gets to pick a fun activity or a new toy.
Get the chewable tablets that make the plaque on her teeth turn pink. Then she can see where to brush. Turn it into a little game where she has to attack the evil plaque.
For a long time I would wrap my daughter in a tight towel and force brush them. Then I went to the store and bought this cute little kids electric toothbrush thinking my daughter would love it. Turns out it kinda freaked her out. So finally I was like pick out a toothbrush anyone you want I'll pay whatever it takes. She picked out a princess toothbrush and some princess and scooby doo toothpaste. I continued for a couple of days to brush them for her when it hit me. Let her do it herself. Now she brushes her own teeth willingly and I will watch and guide as needed. I inspect them afterwards and if I see that a spot was missed I'll go in with her hand still on the brush and get it. Then we got these cute little 5oz lion king cups that she gets to rinse with. Hope this helps. I've also learned that letting them do it ';themselves'; helps with brush hair, getting dressed, cleaning their own room, getting in the carseat, pretty much everything.
Try a toothbrush that lights up. They can be found at most drugstores for just a few dollars. It is timed so they brush their teeth for the recommended time. The light excites kids and encourage them to brush.
Let her pick out the toothbrush. That's a good one, then get a toothpaste that isn't yucky. Tell her you are going to brush for her first, then let her try on her own.

Barney has a great song that I sing with my son, it goes like this...

I'm brushing my teeth on top,

It's so much fun I hate to stop,

    Chorus:

And when I'm brushing my teeth and having so much fun,

I never let the wa-ter run, NO, I never let the water run!

Now I'm brushing my teeth on bottom,

'Cause I wouldn't wanna say I forgot 'em.

    Chorus again:

...make up your own words that will make her laugh and make it fun!
TOOTHBRUSHES THAT PLAY MUSIC! I had one when I was little, and I loved it so much that I'd go into the bathroom and listen to it. lol
i dont know my son wont leave the toothbrush alone i think he does it 5 times a day...try the flavor toothpaste
let her pick out a really cool toothbrush (ex. dora the explorer) and buy kids toothpaste so that it tastes like bubblegum and has sparkles in it. most little kids don't like mint
Show her a really old person with no teeth and tell her that she will look like that if she does not brush them.
Like they did when parents actually raised their kids with respect, pop them on the butt and they will never miss brushing again.
I went through this with my son when he was 2 or so. We were talking about monsters one night and how he was scared of them and I told him about 'plaque monsters' eating his teeth and how much they hated toothpaste.

Now, he's 9, we brush together to get rid of the plaque monsters. When he/she gets older you can take a toothpick and rub it on the teeth and get some 'plaque monsters' on it so the kid knows you weren't just kidding with him.

I think the thing that works the best is to do it together. It's great bonding time to make funny faces in the mirror and fight over the mirror by butting each other out of the way.

    Have fun and enjoy!
I buy my toddler a toothbrush with his favorite character in it. And I make brushing my teeth and showing him as much fun as possible.
Our 2 %26amp; 1/2 yr. old daughter loves to be held upside down when playing. So if she's really not cooperating and we need to get her teeth brushed, I'll pick her up, hold her upside down, and my wife will brush her teeth while she's laughing and giggling.

Not a good long-term solution, but it works in a pinch. Of course, we're doing the brushing for her; she's not really ready to brush on her own. Once she it, I don't think this'll work. :)

Also, she loves Dora the Explorer, and early on my wife got her a Dora battery-powered spin-brush (don't know the brand -- was available at the CVS drug store). So at bedtime it's not just ';Let's go brush';, but ';Let's go brush with Dora and Boots!';, which makes it a happier experience for her.

And finally -- though this might result in big therapy bills in a couple of years -- my wife does explain, ';We have to go brush our teeth so they don't get holes in them';. In a cheerful way -- not a mean threat -- but it does seem to get the point across that brushing is important.

    Good luck!

How can I get my two year old to let me brush his teeth again? He won't let anyone near him with a toothbrush?

You should encourage him by using a sticker chart and each time he brushes his teeth he can add a sticker. Not only will he brush his teeth it is a sense of fun to. I had the same problem with my 3 year old daughter but now i don't even have to bargain with her!How can I get my two year old to let me brush his teeth again? He won't let anyone near him with a toothbrush?
Try getting him to copy you and brush at the same time as you. Otherwise try a battery operated brush. Let him brush his teeth himself then say that you just want to check how well he's done now he's such a big boy.I tried this with my son and it worked. It's also a method we tell parents to try when we are asked. I work at a dental practice .How can I get my two year old to let me brush his teeth again? tell him his breath is bad and he can't sit on your lap or snuggle until it's fixed

let him rub some toothpaste on his teeth himself (with his fingers)

get some of that rinse that turns the dirty teeth colors and have him rinse with it and then show him what they look like

let him try brushing himself and then offer to help--if he feels like he is in control it will help
get him his favorite comic book character toothbrush and tell him if he doesnt brush his teeth with the candyh toothpaste he wont get anything for christmas? (:
Tell him hes teeth will turn purple for life and santa wont come to his house! lol my mom told me that when i was young and it worked

What is a good brush to use for grooming my dog?

I have a chow and she is starting to shed her winter coat...is there a good brush to get down to the base of her coat to help remove the shedding hair to keep her from getting mats? I've tried using a comb for shedding but she won't stay still long enough for that and a slicker brush doesn't get down far enough since her coat is so thick...What is a good brush to use for grooming my dog?
We have a Great Pyrenees - ohhhh, he hates to have a bath! loves to be brushed except the tails and ears! He has to be brushed every few days to keep his coat from knotting up. I use a slicker but I also use a hairbrush from Wal-Mart, it works very well. It is just a regular human brush but has long bristle plastic also tips. I use that and a bottle sprayer -water with a couple teaspoons of conditioner in it. Also you can try this treat for your chow so it may help him to enjoy the brush or bath, when he knows a treat is coming! http://www.njboxers.com/satin-balls-reci鈥?/a> Hope that helps! What is a good brush to use for grooming my dog?
what kind of slicker brush are you using?? there is one slicker brush that i would recommend its what all of the dog groomers use on coats like the chow chow and so on . it is call the universal slicker brush you can find it at this web sight called www.petedge.com and you can also try an undercoat rake or try the furminater all of these tools are great for coats like the chow chow. if your chow chow is not fonded for bath time then maybe you should let the professional handle it. chows have this really thick coat that really needs a good scrub and brush and profeional groomers have better pet shampoos for coats like the chows. believe me as a profional dog bather it is so much more worth it to let us the groomers and the dog bather do the dirty work for you. we get a few chows in our grooming shop that are not that fonded for bath time ,but we make it work so that the dog is not stress out and can enjoy getting a massage and good scrub.
If you find that she gets a lot of mats, you may want to use something like this when you're brushing her:

Brushes will only do so much with blowing coat. Your best bet would be to get a high powered force dryer to blow out all the dead coat. Then brush some more afterwards. This should remove 90-100% of the hair.
I have a lab and have tried soft slicker brushes, rubber brushes....just about everything to no avail. I use a Furminator now and it's great for getting the shedding undercoat out.
An undercoat rake helps to pull out that bottom layer. If you have a forced air dryer you can line comb and blow dry the chow, and that will really help to get all of the loose coat out.

As for tips for bathing...do you have a self groom shop in your area? That way they have a noose so your dog can't escape.

    I bought these:

    http://www.kvvet.com/KVVet/productr.asp?鈥?/a>

    http://www.kvvet.com/KVVet/productr.asp?鈥?/a>

Both of those make grooming much easier on me. And that website has free shipping, and the products are super inexpensive.

Here is an undercoat rake from the same website:

    http://www.kvvet.com/KVVet/productr.asp?鈥?/a>
I have a GSD-mix with a very heavy coat. I first use a Zoom Groom, scrubbing it back and forth to loosen things up. Then I use a Furminator to strip out the undercoat, and I finish with a slicker brush.

My dog doesn't like baths either, but she loves getting toweled off. I just get the bath part done quickly and then 'reward' her by rubbing her dry with a towel. ;-)
I also highly recommend the Furminator. It is quite expensive for a dog brush but believe me - it will save your home, fleece jacket, car, and vacuum cleaner! Also you will notice how soft your chow chow is when you're finished!

Is your chow food driven? Perhaps a 2nd person could distract her by feeding her bits of treats or kibble while you get the bathing done and she will not feel so tortured.

P.S. shop around online for the Furminator, it's more expensive in stores!
The Furminator is amazing. Pricey but completely worth it. I have 2 Siberian Huskies with thick undercoats. What I do is pull all the larger clumps out with a toothed brush made for getting the undercoat out and then when it doesn't seem to get much out anymore, break out the furminator and start all over again. Some pet stores will let you test it in their store, trust me, you will be sold on the spot!
My dog loved the usual metal toothed brushes, the kind that have that soft inner area so that the bristles move and not scratch. My dogs always loved being brushed. I also did the dog a favor though and I cut out the matts so hey didnt have to suffer me brushing them out. I cut slowly and as little as possible, it doesnt show much
You need to use Universal brush. They have longer stronger teeth than soft slickers brushes. You will have to brush down to the skin holding down the hair - no brush can go thru that type of coat without assistance. Don't bother with pin brushes - they won't remove enough hair %26amp; undercoat for you.

Is it less damaging to comb your hair rather than brush it?

Combing hair is less damaging than using a regular brush. But either way brushing hair can be damaging. Especially if you brush hair when its wet! Which you should never do. However you should only brush hair about 2 times a day after hair has dried from shower and before you go to sleep. :)Is it less damaging to comb your hair rather than brush it?
They're both ok as long as you aren't pulling. You want to use a good silkening conditioner or leave in conditioner, detangler etc (whichever you prefer) prior to combing or brushing. If you can run your fingers through your hair, it's ok to brush or comb....That rule is not a ';must do';. But it's good to follow if you have continuous hair damage and breaking.

But yes, combing is less damaging to the hair. But if done right, either is just as well.Is it less damaging to comb your hair rather than brush it?
combing the hair is better as a brush stretches the hair and on wet hair stretching will snap it off so comb gently and make sure you don't rip thru it. hope this helps
    I can only assume so.
    depends on the brush really

but either way you actually shoudlnt brush or comb your hair more than 2-3 times a days because it causes alot breakage

How long do you brush your teeth for???????

I dont mean how often i mean how long...2 mins 5 mins?????How long do you brush your teeth for???????

It takes me about 4 minutes.I like to keep my fangs clean white ans sparkly! dont forget to floss every day, too speacially after sucking blood!

  • Is It Safe To Brush My Dog's Teeth With Human Toothpaste?

    Hello dog lovers,

My kid the Domberman is almost 3 years old. I was wondering if it's safe for him to use my toothpaste (Colgate)?

I thank you for your timeIs It Safe To Brush My Dog's Teeth With Human Toothpaste?
No, it is not.. a veterinarian answered that question a few hours ago, and she said certainly not safe..You can get doggy toothpaste at any pet supply, and they like it better, too..

Since i began feeding Canidae, even my old dog's teeth are sparkling white.. I can't believe it!

Here is the link to the answer by a veterinarian%26gt; http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Is It Safe To Brush My Dog's Teeth With Human Toothpaste?
If it is Crest, yes :-)
NO dog toothpaste only - you could seriously hurt your dog with human toothpaste.
I wouldn't recommend it. Toothpaste is not meant to be swallowed and states that on the package. It would be hard if not impossible to teach your dog to brush and spit.

Why don't you call a vet's office in your area and inquire if there is an animal toothpaste?

Thank you for checking to make sure. You are a responsible pet owner. Good for you!
Definately not. Because human toothpaste has floride and such in it, and it is already unsafe for us to swallow that, and dogs don't know any better. Just spend the extra couple of bucks to go ahead and get him some doggy toothpaste, he'll like the taste of that better anyway.
Yes and it is actually a good thing to do. Dogs teeth can decay just like humans and if your dog lets you brush its teeth then go for it. It will save you money in the long run and plus your dogs teeth will be healthier.
You should really invest in a dog toothpaste they are not expensive %26amp; they usually come w a toothbrush made specially for your pooch. Normally Im not against using people items on my animals w safety percautions but if you read on the toothpaste box %26amp; or label it says that it is not safe to swallow even by humans %26amp; that even children should be monitored when using %26amp; that is any significant amount IS swallowed that poison control should be called. So being that your pooch is for sure going to swallow %26amp; eat the paste then its certain that is could cause problems!! Be safe %26amp; keep your pooches best interest in mind %26amp; just pick up some pet toothpaste, they like the flavor, its no rinse, so less mess %26amp; its safe for them to swallow!! BEST OF LUCK!!!
Dogs don't like minty-fresh breath! They like liver and chicken. It is not safe for your dog to be brushed with our toothpaste. You have a lot of good answers here! It's great to see that you care about your dogs oral health!
NO!!! It's not safe at all. Most human toothpastes contain an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs. Buy some doggy toothpaste at a petstore.
    Not really, no!!
yes if he likes it, if not get a flavored one for animals

    How to clean hair brush?

How to clean your hair brush, and get everything off the bristles? How to clean hair brush?
1.First take a fine-tooth comb and brush all of the hair you can out of the brush.

2.Then get some rubbing alcohol (something like that) and put a little in the sink (or a little container)

    3. soak the brush for a while so that you can kill all the germs and things that have builded up.

    4. wash the hair brush with some shampoo, and after let the brush air-dry.How to clean hair brush?
get a comb and run i through the brush then rinse it out with water.

Hope this helps you. You might want to do this every other week.
run a bowl of hot water and put some shampoo on to the bristles let it soak in the water then rub the bristles, also try using a comb to run through the bristles and it should come out nice and clean
first get all the hair out by pulling it out or using a comb and then put the brush in hot water..(boiling hot water)

it cleans it like brand new!!
Here is a site that gives a how to on cleaning brushes and combs. I've been doing it this way for years. The brush that I seem to have the most problems cleaning in my daily hair brush (the ones that have the plastic bristles usually set in rubber). Dust and all sorts of stuff seems to get caught in the bristles and usually I have to pull them out from each one. If their really caught in there I use a toothpick to help pull them up.
if i was u i would just buy a new one thats what i normally do or use another comb to hook the hair out from out the brush wash itoff and dry it with a towel
    with a close-teeth comb

    it works

put water on the brush first, then comb the stuff out, then bang the brush (bristles facing down) in the sink, then comb through the brush again.

or buy a new one :)
use a comb and run it along the bottom of the hairbrush a couple times to get the hair out of it
I have always just used a comb and dragged it down vertically then pulled off the hair and repeat till all of it was off
first you can pull all the hair out and if you want to sanitize it you can put it in the dish washer! My mom taught me...it works!
grt a nice comb put it in the hair brush try to get the hair out or use your hands you might not get all the hair out

Are you suppose to brush your teeth first or use mouthwash?

Hi. You should be brushing first. When you brush you should hold your toothbrush roughly 45 degrees down towards the gum line, not horizontal. Go in small round circles, doing one or two teeth at a time and going all the way roun from the back on one side to the other, and back round on the inside. This is the most effective way to remove plaque at the gum margin. Don't forget to brush on the biting (occlusal) surfaces of your teeth too!

Floss ideally should come next, and the floss should be curved around the tooth and slip now between the tooth and gum. It should be pulled up and down (not through in and out!) to literally scrape plaque from between your teeth and just under the gum. Then switch to the next tooth surface on the other side of the little triangle bit of gum (papilla) that comes up between the teeth.

After being very thorough, mouthwash to finish off! You must use a fluoride mouthwash.

This is important because mouthwash (unless it has chlorhexidine in it like Corsodyl or some prescription mouthwashes) cannot penetrate the plaque layer which is full of bacteria. If you tried mouthwashing with a lot of plaque remaining in your mouth, The fluoride from the mouthwash would not help remineralise the surface of the tooth that's covered by the plaque, so without brushing eventually a cavity would develop on the tooth where the plaque sticks. And mouthwash cannot remove plaque from the tooth surface either because it's very adherent!

One final note- when you finish brushing, flossing and mouthwashing, you shouldn't rinse out the toothpaste froth with water, because this literally washes the fluoride from the toothpaste and mouthwash from your mouth, and reduces its effect on your teeth and gums! So spit or dribble it out lightly, rinse with the mouthwash, and your done!

Maybe a bit too much detail, but I hope this helps! :)Are you suppose to brush your teeth first or use mouthwash?
You are suppose to brush first then use mouth wash second

Use this step by step for a healthy clean mouth. Rinse with Closys mouthwash, brush with Crest, rinse with lysterine then with Act. I know this sounds crazy, but you will never have to floss and you will neutrilize any harmful acids in your mouth that are harmful to the enamel. Are you suppose to brush your teeth first or use mouthwash?
My Nanna Always told me (b4 she died) To Use Mouth Wash Fist To Get Rid Of All the Yucky Stuff and Then brush to clean... and she was usually right, I quickly learnt to listen to what she had to say...

anyways i dnt no if this is what u are suppose to do but it's what i do anyways.

Can helicopters , during a brush fire , come to a lake and take water out of the lake to help stop the fire?

Me and my friends witnessed a helicopter go towards , the lake during a brush fire , and , across , the lake is SDGE and I'm saying , that they stop at SDGE to extract water to help stop the fire , but my friend says , they took it out the lake.

It's Chollas Lake BTW. And there are animals , that live in the lakeCan helicopters , during a brush fire , come to a lake and take water out of the lake to help stop the fire?
Yes they can aslong as they have a bucket but the problem with that is a few things one PETA and some extreme animal lovers have complained about that in court that by doing that numerous fish, turtles and whatever else was taken out of they lake was then burned to death when dousing the fire. 2. there is a very small chance that a scuba diver could be in the water and get sucked into the bucket as well. It is an urban legend but it is possible so they would have to search from either the air or on a boat and make sure there are no other boats or a scuba flag down in the water. Can helicopters , during a brush fire , come to a lake and take water out of the lake to help stop the fire?
I guess if they had a bucket... but seriously, the helicopter was probably just there to provide a bird's eye view of the situation, where to go, etc. I'm guessing the fire trucks pulled water out of the lake, or a nearby hydrant.
Yeah, they do it all the time. Just Google image search forest fire helicopter or something to that affect.

Is it best to brush your teeth with cold, lukewarm, or hot water?

+What do you all think, or what do dentists recommend? Is it better for the teeth and gums to brush your teeth using cold, lukewarm, or hot water? ANY dentists here?Is it best to brush your teeth with cold, lukewarm, or hot water?
You can really brush your teeth with any of the above, I don't know that any has specific benefit. However, if you run your toothbrush under warm/hot water before you brush it will help soften the bristles a bit which is generally kinder to your gums. Happy brushing!

JAMRDH - a dental hygienistIs it best to brush your teeth with cold, lukewarm, or hot water?
    cold/tap temperature

it will inhibit the growth of micro-organisms....some people think that hot water will kill them, but in reality you couldn't tolerate water in your mouth that was hot enough...
I always use warm water on my brush and to rinse, as teeth hurt with the cold water. I think that if warm water helps you to keep brushing and rinsing for longer than you would with cold water, it is a good thing.

I also put boiling water in a cup that I soak my toothbrushes in, along with mouth rinse solution to help clean the brush.

Hot %26amp; boiling water wont kill any serious gum disease, but will certainly harm and burn your gums, so avoid too hot water in your mouth....

here is an article about disease, just in case that is why you would consider HOT water:

    : : A Look At Gingivitis And Periodontal Disease : :

Gum disease, also known as gingivitis, is a serious condition that will normally result in tooth loss. With adults, gingivitis and periodontal disease are the most common forms of gum disease. To prevent both types of gum disease, you should always brush your teeth and remove as much plaque as possible. If you allow the plaque to build up, gum disease will normally be the result.

Gingivitis is known as inflammation in the tissues of the gums. If plaque and tartar build up along the gum line, the gums will eventually get swollen and irritated. Over time, the gums will get very tender and start to appear puffy. When you brush your teeth, you鈥檒l notice that your gums have become very sore and they will start to bleed with little to no pressure. If you notice blood when brushing, chances are you have gingivitis. Anytime you brush your teeth or floss, there shouldn鈥檛 be any sign of blood.

During this stage of gingivitis, there is no loss of bone structure. You can help to prevent gingivitis though, through flossing and brushing a few times a day. If you have gingivitis and you don鈥檛 do something about it, it could lead to periodontal disease. Those who don鈥檛 treat gingivitis or those who keep poor oral hygiene habits, will normally end up with periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease is a condition in which the bone and surrounding structures are destroyed. Even though this form of mouth disease cannot be reversed, you can put a stop to it鈥檚 progression by going to your dentist on a regular basis and brushing your teeth a few times day. Periodontal disease is a serious condition, which is why you should always try to stop the progression or even better - never let your gums and teeth get this bad.

If you don鈥檛 do something about the progression of periodontal disease, the condition will continue to get worse. During the early stages of the disease, you鈥檒l notice that your gums appear to be bright red, and very sore. This is due to the plaque building up below the gum line. When left untreated, the plaque and tartar that is below the gums will continue to eat at the teeth.

Keep in mind that plaque doesn鈥檛 need to be visible or detected in order for periodontal disease to be diagnosed. To determine if you have periodontal disease, you鈥檒l need to have your dentist examine you on a regular basis. Your dentist can perform tests on your gums and your teeth, to determine if you have it. If you do have periodontal disease, your dentist can tell you how to stop the progression and prevent things from getting any worse than they already are.

Both periodontal disease and gingivitis aren鈥檛 normally painful and both tend to progress in a slow fashion. Although you may not be aware that you have either of the two at first, the symptoms and signs will start to show in the later stages. Once the later stages have started to progress, you鈥檒l normally end up losing the tooth.

To be on the safe side and protect your teeth and your gums, you should always go to the dentist for your regular checkups and cleaning. If you catch it in time, your dentist will be able to help you treat the earlier stages of gum disease. You don鈥檛 want to wait until it is too late, as the more advanced stages of gum disease can completely destroy your teeth and gums - and there will be little to nothing that you can do about it.

*** dont try to ';cure'; any serious gum problems yourself, only ';deep cleaning'; of the gums %26amp; bone by a dental surgeon will get to the root cause - and you must have impeccapble dental hygiene to keep it under control, especially if you are genetically pre-disposed to gum disease - it is a lifelong war.***
fantastic question hmm i would say hot water as hot water cleans stuff better but for comfort cold (obviously)
    I think lukewarm

    But ask frm dentist also:)
I actually asked my dentist about this a while ago because I have really sensitive teeth and cold water just about kills me. When I am getting my teeth cleaned they can't rinse my mouth because the water that comes out of their little jet is too cold. They have to get me some tap water afterwards and let me rinse with that.

According to him, the most important thing is that you floss every single day and try to remember to brush at least twice a day, if not more often (as in after meals). He told me the temperature of the water is not a factor, and a person can just use whatever temperature is most comfortable.

I hope that helps you out.

    Happy brushing!
the best is Boiling hot water it will help alot

Is it okay to brush my teeth more than twice a day?

You have my full permission. Is it okay to brush my teeth more than twice a day?
yes. i brush 2 times a day, because i can't brush my teeth at lunch. your supposed to brush after every meal. But make sure you don't use to much tooth paste because that can wear the enamenal of your teeth. Is it okay to brush my teeth more than twice a day?
IF YOU CAN DO IT AFTER EVERY MEAL-- GREAT!!!

IF JUST IN THE MORNING AND AT NIGHT, THAT'S JUST FINE. YES, A REAL DENTIST IS SAYING THIS, WOW!
Well. According to a recent study it is bad for you. It says brushing leads to the wearing of enamel leading to VERY bad things! If you brush your teeth 2-3 times a day use a new toothpaste called PRONAMEL. It strengthens your enamel every time you brush. So all of the enamel you harm is restored and makes your teeth pearly white. That is your best choice.
i don't see why not, i brush my teeth every time i eat, i'm a little compulsive about it, i feel like i need to brush my teeth every time food goes in my mouth, if i'm walking through the kitchen and grab a couple of chips out of the bag and thats all, after i eat them, i automatically want to brush my teeth.
yes ib rush mine twice a day
Yes, you should brush after every meal.
Depends on how strong ur teeth are. Also, it is important that u use soft or extra soft toothbrushes. Brushing too hard can lead to gum recession, which is harmful.
Yeah, the dentist always says to brush after every meal!
    Why wouldn't it be?
Yes, you should only get concerned if your gums get really sensitive or raw. You don't really need to brush more than 3 times a day for good oral health.
Actually, you should brush after every meal AND before you go to bed to get rid of any deposits from snakies or drinks you have had since dinner, after all, the only thing which I think does not create plaque is water, an anti bacterial rinse before bed would also be good. The nasties play at night when you are sleeping. JB

Nice guy, you made me laugh.

Nope, not that I know of. Gimp's more like Photoshop, but it does have a palette for a varieties of brushes. You can edit, tweak, add brushes to the dockable brushes palette. Fully customized.

Plenty of effects that you can experiment with the Gimp.

Well, I am still ';quiting'; as we speak, but I use this product that keeps me kissing sweet! Check it out, read and decide wether you want to try it. I am glad that I found it. I have been using it for about 2 years now. Something to think about!

Don't smoke smoking, it's good for you. Your Boyfriend probably can't taste/smell it on you, just saying that to make you quit. 80% of what you intake rests on your tongue. Try scraping your tongue before brushing. The twisty things that come with a purchase of freezer bags or that close bread work well if you don't have a tongue scraper! Which i assume you do not! Good luck!
No, he would not be able to taste it after all that.

My cat is malting like crazy but she won't let me brush her. Any tips?

I really need to brush her fur coz it goes everywhere and my boyfriend is allergic! How can I get her to enjoy - or at least endure - being brushed? My cat is malting like crazy but she won't let me brush her. Any tips?
If you can afford it get her groomed by a profesional, if not they make these gloves you can wear while you are petting her that collect dander like magnets, they really work, give 'em a try.My cat is malting like crazy but she won't let me brush her. Any tips?
There are a few things that I can offer that will help..

Firstly you do need to do this regardless of how much it is liked by them for there own good..

Secondly all cats are happier in the dark and quiet..

At most vets you will be able to purchase a cat hood.. It look a little like a muzzle but covers the eyes too.. This will relax the cat while you stroke it at first gradually getting to brush it.. As a benefit it can not bite though it so it is also a form or protection..

keep it up It will be a long haul getting it used to it but it will be worth it in the end.. If you are not able to do this try looking at a professional groomer.. They will charge about 拢40 to clip it off or brush out the mats if possible.. This is not a lot when you consider the vets bills for an infected sore etc..

Well done for caring.. To recap buy the hood and start gently bit by bit.. If needed at first ware a thick pare of gardening gloves.. Cat scratches are very infectious and can easily become infected so it is better to protect yourself first before trying to help your Friend feel better.. Good luck and keep going you can do it... :-)
Try using a lint roller on her instead
Take her to the vet cause she might be very sick thats how my cat died and now im studying to be a vet good luck :)
Try the mitt type of brush, it fits on your hand and you just pet her as you normally would. It really works, my cats like it.

Another trick, which I use for giving my cats pills- feed their head through the arm of an old sweater. It keeps them from kicking or scratching. In your case, then, if the arm hole is big enough, pull the cat all the way through. My cats are small, so they fit, and I always wind up with a lot of hair on my sweater- especially if the sweater is a ';chunky'; knit. HTH!
Lint roller is good, put your cat with another cat, the other cat will start licking the fur off your cat.
i have a long fur cat and i brush her when she is eating,it distracts her from what i am doing.
    hmm tricky one!

We have 2 cats, and luckily the one with the longer hair loves being combed but the other one does not!

We brush her but to be honest I find stroking her fairly hard (but not too hard, I make sure she likes it!) gets more fur off than the comb, It makes a mess but once hoovered up it is fine.

Try the glove others have suggested, I would try to avoid grabbing your cat by the scruff of the neck as you need to associate being combed with pleasure, not something that will stress her out!

    =^..^=
start off with a trip to the vet and when everything checks out take it little bit at a time
Pet stores have these gloves that will massage the cat while you pet it, and pull the fur off-check to see if she will tolerate that. I use the Pledge for Allergies and my friend who is allergic to cats says my house doesn't bother him at all. But I also vacuum a lot and keep the cat to one part of the house. If your cat is shedding a lot, it might be stressed for some reason.
Buy a doggie t-shirt for your cat.
Grab all the loose skin at the back of the cat's neck very tight

it will not hurt the cat

it is natural for them to remain still when held this way as this is similar to them being carried as a kitten by the mother

Even if they are not completely happy being held this way it gives you control to help them

How to clean a painting brush? 10 POINTS!?

It's been stained for a long time (years), and it's very expensive (hand me down from my father). I need immediate help! Please, it's very important! Thank you!How to clean a painting brush? 10 POINTS!?
try the mildest first: ordinary bar soap and water .Do not use strong solvents on a watercolor brush. If it's only stained understand that this is normal ;it may never come out and it's not worth trying to remove it .

if it's a buildup of paint try winsor and newton's brush cleaner restorer. For daily maintenance the masters brush cleaner is great. How to clean a painting brush? 10 POINTS!?
I've had very good luck with acetone. Dip the brushes in a cup of acetone, swish them around, remove and shake them vigorously to remove the excess. This action also helps them to air dry. You can buy it at any hardware store. Now, before you take any advice from me or anyone take the brush to a local art supply and ask someone. The reason for this is that without seeing the brushes it's hard to say. Acetone has worked very well for me on natural fiber brushes but will destroy plastic or synthetic ones.

These are usually the cheaper type and I'm assuming these hand me down brushes you have are expensive and well crafted. But, once again, without seeing them I would suggest you take them to a brush expert.
If it's ONLY stained, then that might not matter. If the hairs are stuck together...well in that case, you may be happy to know that there have been advances in brush technology in recent years....

seriously though, you need to know if its got acrylic or oil paint in it before you can figure out how to clean it.
The best way that I know of is to soak it in paint remover for a day, but you can run it under hot water too, but i don't know how effective it would be if the paint has been on it for a long time...
put the paint brush into a pot of white spirits. The paint brush should be left in the potuntil it is clean this could take a few minutes to a couple of hours hope i helped

Is there a good grammar brush-up for the literate?

I'm a native speaker of English who'd like to bring her language skills up to a professional level. Since I'm not in the habit of using phrases like ';butt naked';, or ';beyond the pail';, I'm having a hard time finding an appropriate book or website.

Can anyone recommend a grammar/usage brush-up for native speakers who are already literate (maybe ';usage for people over 45';, or...something)?

Thanks! Is there a good grammar brush-up for the literate?

If I spray brush killer around a pecan tree ,will it harm the tree ?

It will only effect foliage. The trunk of the tree will be fine.If I spray brush killer around a pecan tree ,will it harm the tree ?
read the instructions...duh..jk!!!heheIf I spray brush killer around a pecan tree ,will it harm the tree ?
it is imperative that you read the label on the product - there are many different brands with completely different chemicals in them. ';Roundup'; , claims it will not contaminate the soil, but if you spray poison of this type on plant material and its roots are touching the root of a plant you do not wish to kill, it may die anyway. I would stand against the tree and spray outward, away from it, even if the label says it will not contaminate the soil. The trees roots will extend outward just as far as the branches above.

Better yet, use a gasoline weed eater or a pruner to clear a circle and create a safe zone before you begin to spray.
if ur talking about round up it will
I'd be very careful and not get any herbicide on the tree or very much on the ground around the tree. Only on the foliage of the plants you intend to kill.. Then your pecan tree should be safe.
    nope
    use organic
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!!!! would you use it on your vegetable plants ?The roots will absorb the poison and It will effect the pecans. The squirrels and other animals that eat these,IT WILL KILL THEM.NOT to mention If you eat any.Use mulch It helps to keep down weeds.
If the tree is fairly old (robust), it should be just fine.
    no

How can I brush my cat's teeth?

for me it was hard to get my 7 year old cat Penny to let me do it, they say you should get the cat used to the brush, then try with just water, then try to brush them but that takes like a month to work up to and my cat needed her teeth brushed bad so I just dove right it. she doesnt like it but I have to hold her head still and be careful doing it, sometimes I dont always do the best job but I try to do it 2X a week. Make sure you give the cat a reward after to it knows it will get something good once the brushing is done, I brush my cats fur after because she loves it so much. At petco or petsmart they have toothbrushes and cat toothpaste that you buy. Good Luck! How can I brush my cat's teeth?
Good news! Cornell University's Feline Health Center has a series of on-line videos on caring for your cat, and one is on brushing your cat's teeth! Here's the website:

    http://www.felinevideos.vet.cornell.edu/鈥?/a>How can I brush my cat's teeth?
    good luck on that! lol

hope he doesnt bite or scratch u!
well maybe u could inject ur cat with a tranquiliser so as to make it sleep, then only u could safely brush ur cat's teeth
    with a toothbrush
they have brushes just for cats that can fit on your finger and open the mouth gently but kinda firm u have to do it quick cuz she is not goin to like you should have someone hold her while you do it hold the paws so you dont get scratched they also have tooth paste for kittys tuna isnt good for cats its high in sodium why do people think that
It's best to start with a regular brushing routine when the cat is young. Kittens usually adjust best to having their teeth brushed. Make brushing time fun for the cat and never lose your temper, even if kitty is reluctant to have her teeth handled. After all, this is not a natural thing for a cat to endure.

Start by gently massaging the cat's gums and teeth with your fingers. Repeat this for several short sessions for several days. Try to pick out times when your cat is calm and praise her every time and even give her treats. Your aim is to create a positive association with the procedure of having her gums and teeth touched.

When your cat accepts these sessions with ease, try to introduce the brush. Remember to use only a toothbrush designed for cats. Again, make sessions short and enjoyable and stop just before your cat becomes uncomfortable. At this stage, you can also introduce the paste. Make sure that it's a flavor that Kitty likes.

If you want to get your adult cat used to having her teeth brushed, it may be best to start with a veterinary dental check-up. Many adult cats suffer from a mild form of gingivitis. Their teeth may look all right to you, but trying to brush them will cause pain and perhaps even bleeding. This in itself may be enough to turn your cat off dental care for good, so it's best to consult a vet first. Once the vet gives the all clear, you can train older cats to tolerate brushing in the same way as you would a kitten.
Number one, this should be fun for you and your cat. Be upbeat and take things slowly. Do not overly restrain your cat. Keep sessions short and positive. Be sure to praise your cat throughout the process. Give yourself a pat on the back, too! You are doing a great thing for your cat!

First, have your cat get used to you putting things in her mouth. Dip your finger in tuna water, chicken broth, or other liquid your cat may like. Call your cat with a voice that means ';treat'; and let your cat lick the liquid off your finger. Then rub your soaked finger gently over your cat's gums and teeth. After a few sessions, your cat should actually look forward to this and you can move on.

Now, place a gauze around your finger. (You can again dip it in the tuna water or other liquid.) Gently rub the teeth in a circular motion with your gauzed finger. Repeat this for the number of sessions it takes your cat to feel comfortable with this procedure. Remember to praise her and keep an upbeat attitude.

After your cat is used to having the flavored gauze in her mouth, you are ready to start with a toothbrush, dental sponge, or pad. We need to get your cat used to the consistency of these items, especially the bristles on a brush. So, let your cat lick something tasty off of the brush or pad so she gets used to the texture.

Once your cat is used to the cleaning item you are going to use, we can add the toothpaste (or rinse). Pet toothpastes either have a poultry, malt, or other flavor so your cat will like the taste. Get your cat used to the flavor and consistency of the toothpaste. Let your cat lick some off your finger and then apply some to your cat's gumline with your finger. Praise your pet.

Now your cat is used to the toothbrush and toothpaste and you are ready to start brushing. Talk to your cat in a happy voice during the process and praise your cat at the end. At first, you may just want to brush one or both upper canine teeth (the large ones in the front of the mouth). These are the easiest teeth for you to get at and will give you some easier practice. As before, when your cat accepts having several teeth brushed, slowly increase the number of teeth you are brushing. Again, by making it appear to be a game, you both will have fun doing it.
