Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?

Mysister always gags when she brushes her teeth, it is really annoying!Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?
My husband does. He also has a very sensitve gag reflex though. I almost never gag when I brush my teeth though. I think it has to do with how far back you stick the toothbrush when brushing your tongue and also with your gag reflex in general.Does everybody gag themselves when they brush their teeth?
i gag if i put the toothbrush too far back inside my mouth, especially if i try to brush my tongue.but it don't seem to be a problem for my siblings.
Psh then she shouldn't brush too far back! If it's her toungue she's brushing then she needs to chill and use mouthwash instead. If she is brushing her back teeth then she is brushing too hard and pushing too hard.
No, either she's doing it wrong, has a flare for the dramatic, or needs her tonsils out.
No, It's all about personal gag reflexes.
I do. It's annoying to be the person gagging, too. It especially happens if I drink too much coffee on an empty stomach.
I gag when I brush the back of my tongue not when I brush my teeth.
my daughter and i do if we brush too far back on our tongues.
it's very annoying when that happens. but i would have to say alot of people gag when they brush their teeth.
No when I brush my tongue I gag.The tongue should be brushed also
Hold your nose and the gag reflex disappears
only when i brush too far back on my tongue.
tell her to swallow lol
It depends on the way he/she brushes the teeth. If you brush touches the sides or the back of the oral cavity, or even the posterior part of your tongue, there is a chance that gag reflex will occur. These areas that i mentioned are innervated by the sensory branch of our vagus nerve (Cranial nerve 10). Once a stimulus is given (like touch or pressure), gag reflex will occur.

Try not to reach those ';far'; areas with your toothbrush. But take note that gag reflex is a good sign that your vagus nerve is properly functioning, because vagus nerve also innervates the other parts of the body such as the intestines myenteric and meissner's plexuses.
