Because you're removing the bacteria and the plaque/tartar, which has it's own sort of taste. Why when i brush my teeth and eat, food taste different?
In an amazing coincidence, food tastes different if you eat it off clean plates, using clean silverware.
It's especially noticable if you're eating a scoop of vanilla ice cream from a bowl that last held italian food with a lot of garlic. Why when i brush my teeth and eat, food taste different?
yeah its like that with me too. you know what is the worst thing after brushing your teeth? Blue Powerade...eww it tastes so sour
you have the taste of toothpaste in your mouth and it interacts with food
Try drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth. It's wicked! They also tell you to take a bite of cracker and a drink of water to clean your palate when you go to taste tests!!!

How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?
My daughter is 10 months old and will not open her mouth for me to brush her teeth. I've let her play with her toothbrush so she gets used to it and she let me do it once and seemed to enjoy it but not since. She keeps her lips firmly closed. Help?!!How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?
Buy bubble gum toothpaste for kids. Maybe then if you encourage her that it's bubble gum or fruit flavoured then she'll want to open her mouth. Kids can never say no to sweet tasting bubble gum toothpaste. try any other flavours if you wish. Or a flavour your kid enjoys. How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?
tickle her
that's what my mum did to me
and she also gave me milk from her breast
i never opened my mouth so that's what she did
she always tickled me first
give her a toothbrush to play with.
try brushing with out toothpaste (just water)
try brushing with a tiny hint of childrens toothpaste.
let her brush your teeth
if all else fails, wipe her teeth with a wet washer after her meals instead. And always offer a drink of plain water after everything she eats or drinks. This will help flush away any residue on her teeth.
try the toothbrush saga again next week and see how you go. Until then, a wet washer and drinks of water are your best next thing :)
i let my son watch me while he ';brushes'; his teeth. i make all the funny faces and open wide while i brush so he tries to mimic me. then i brush his teeth. i set him on my lap and open my own mouth wide for him to mimic and growl to get him to close it to brush the outsides. he thinks its so fun, every time he finda a way into the bathroom he asks to brush his teeth!
Use play. Every morning and every evening let her watch you brush your teeth. Then get her to help you to ';brush'; her doll or teddy's teeth. Then get her to brush her teeth or to let you do it. Let her brush yours.
If it starts as play she will soon accept it but it needs to be done regularly over a few days before she gets the message. In a couple of weeks time she will expect this as part of her routine.
It only needs to be able 20 seconds long.
You NEED to brush her teeth, or she'll regret it later, but remember, the time you REALLY have to brush her teeth, is when all of her milk teeth fall out and her real teeth come... Good Luck!
Babys have milk teeth. They all fall when the child is about 6 years old.
You donot have to brush baby's teeth, but give him more milk (breast), so his teeth grow stronger.caption glycolic acid peel

What can i use to get rid of the hard staff on my teeth?i try to brush it off real hard but it dont work out?
sometimes my gums bleed ,how do i stop/avoid the bleeding? What can i use to get rid of the hard staff on my teeth?i try to brush it off real hard but it dont work out?
You can buy a dental kit to use to scrape the tarter of your teeth your self .But if you use a hard brush you will bleed .And you could brush all the enamel of you teethWhat can i use to get rid of the hard staff on my teeth?i try to brush it off real hard but it dont work out?
It sounds like the 'hard stuff' is tartar (calculus) - it's when the sticky film on your teeth known as plaque hardens due to minerals in your saliva. It can't actually be removed with a toothbrush, so you should go to your dentist/hygienist so they can scrape it off for you (get a scale %26amp; polish!).
The bleeding is caused by your gums getting irritated by the bacteria in the plaque and tartar. You need to make sure you're brushing your teeth properly and regularly, and get the tartar removed regularly by the dentist.
Tartar is the hard stuff on your teeth.
Plaque is the soft stuff.
Nothing but a good scrapping of your teeth will remove the tartar from them. Either take a few years of dental hygiene and get some instruments and clean your own teeth, or make an appointment with your dentist or hygienist. Oh and I should say, I have seen people who have damaged their teeth by trying to perform their own scaling without knowing what the hel_ they were doing.
Gums bleed because you have Gingivitis. Again bacteria from the tartar and plaque that you have on your teeth irritate your gums and give you gingivitis.
Gingivitis gives you gums that are red, swell, and bleed when you floss or brush them. Getting your teeth cleaned and keeping them clean will reverse the gingivitis.
Hey I have had that problem,
My dentist said that hard stuff your revering to is called plaq (Pronounced Plark)
Just brush really hard and if the plaq still doesn't come off, See your dentist and book an appointment for a scale and clean :)
Oh an also the bleeding part is Good!
If your gums mean that just means that your removing the germs that harbour there.
Brushing and making your gums bleed is good, Try not to avoid it if its bleeding. Keep it up!
Hope everything goes good. :)
Chlex :)
maybe its tartar
you need to get your dentist to use a tool to pick it off
its from the buildup of plaque and the hardening of ti
shouldnt happen if you normally brush your teeth
sorry if that isnt what you were thinking of.
What do you mean by ';hard stuff ';
:S
try tweezers ?

What do you brush your dogs teeth with?
i use a little baking sodaWhat do you brush your dogs teeth with?
They have little chew bones that are called greenes and that is what they are made for or they have hard plastic bones that are also made for cleaning dogs teeth. What do you brush your dogs teeth with?
I have all large dogs, so i just give them all a large raw beef knuckle bone once a week. They have all got healthy, clean teeth, so it must work.
Doggy toothpaste! Get them at any petstore
Doggy toothpaste can be found at most stores that have pet supplies (they're in like beef flavor, ect) and you can get these toothbrush things you slip over your finger tip to brush their teeth with. Good for you for brushing your dog's teeth, it's very importaint to keep their teeth clean... they can get decay just like people do.
I have never heard of using baking soda. I use dog toothpaste and a dog tooth brush. Check Pet Stores for these items.
Funny you should mention that, because so do I. I make a paste with it using a CET mouthwash that I get from my vet. Works better than anything else that I've tried. Do NOT use human tooth paste on a dog. The ingredients that make it foam/bubble is dangerous for dogs.
Dog toothpaste can be bought at the petstore/grocery store, but it is unbelievably expensive--more than human toothpaste, and although some of them are flavored for dogs, my dogs don't like any of them. I have a dog with a chronic stomatitis (an auto-immune condition where he is allergic to plaque), so believe me, I have tried everything. Plus, the baking soda slightly shifts the pH to give the mouth a more basic environment which helps to clear up infection.
I use a dog toothpaste - it is ugly and brown, but they love it! I have a finger brush and when I am done brushing, I just let them lick the tiny bristles clean. Just make sure baking soda is okay for them to swallow - dog toothpastes are made to be digestable, unlike human pastes.

How to brush baby teeth?
Our 11-mo old has 5 teeth now %26amp; we've heard we need to start brushing teeth. But he refuses, he clamps his mouth shut %26amp; it's pointless to pry it open. I think the only thing we can do is keep trying every few weeks, don't pry open his mouth, and when he eventually is able to speak %26amp; understand us then maybe we can start then even if he's 3 yrs old then. Is this OK?How to brush baby teeth?
My son is 12 months and sometimes he clamps down when I try to brush his teeth.
To help with this problem, I have been showing him how I brush my teeth and then brush his. I also let him hold the toothbrush. If he plain just refuses to let me anywhere near his teeth, I take a washcloth and rub his gums and teeth down with water and we try the next time around with the toothbrush. In most cases he will let me use a washcloth.
I was using the oragel brand where you put it on your finger but with him, he has 6 teeth and he was biting me...so we quit that one and went to a toddler toothbrush.
I would say give it a try everyday, especially right before bed to prevent cavities. The more you do it, the more it becomes routine, and the more he will begin to accept it.
If that does not work, the next time you have a dental checkup ask to bring in your son. They can look at his teeth and give you tips on how to clean his teeth.
I would not wait on this one. Dental health is very important. I saw many kids, mostly kids on the bottle too long that had capped teeth or rotten teeth. It was terrible. Some had problems with speech and eating, while others where embarrassed by their lack of teeth when they entered school. Baby teeth lay a foundation for permanent teeth. I do not want to scare you, and in reality missing a brushing here and there probably won't cause major problems, but I would start a good routine of brushing.

I hope this helps!! Good luck to you and your little one.How to brush baby teeth?
well it is a good idea to start good teeth brushing now because he can get cavities, try a small stool he can stand on if he can walk or hold him up and let him see his self do it.Let him pick out a really cool toothbrush and some cool toothpaste.Try and make it fun but a learning experience.
I HAD MY CHILD'S DENTIST TELL ME TO LET THE BABY LAY ON THE FLOOR AND YOU GET DOWN THERE TOO (THEY WILL PROBABLY THINK THIS IS FUNNY) AND MAKE IT FUN. MAYBE BRING HIM TO THE STORE AND HAVE HIM PICK OUT THE TOOTHBRUSH. DO YOU BRUSH YOUR TEETH WITH HIM? THAT COULD WORK TOO. LIKE POTTY TRAINING MAKE IT FUN AND MAKE IT A BIG DEAL.
Wow you are REALLY behind the ball on this one! You should brush baby's teeth and gums starting REALLY early- more like 4-5 months especially since yours has so many teeth.
They make fingertip toothbrushes, I usually do my son's while he is the bathtub and he really enjoys it.
Your dr will tell you if your child absolutley not let you brush their teeth then give them a warm wash cloth and let them chew on it. Its the next best thing to a tooth brush. It dosent do as good of a job but it works. Eventually try giving him a tooth brush to hold and chew on.
try trying it every other night or so. Just a wet toothbrush with no paste. Maybe give him a small prize when he opens his mouth. or something.
I don't know if this will help, but it did for us. We bought several different cute tooth brushes, purchased some yummy flavored toothpaste, let out little guy pick out his toothbrush, sat him down and let him brush his own teeth. Once he is comfortable with the tooth brush he might let you teach him how to brush his teeth. Also, brush your teeth with him so he knows what to do!
Good Luck!
Yea its ok. But you start brushing tem when their teeth are kinda big wich YEA is at the 3 years old!
First off, make sure you are using a soft, tiny brush. Or at the grocery or drug store you can find little rubber bristled, baby toot brushes. You could even just use a wash cloth and rub the surface of the teeth to disrupt any plaque and wipe the teeth clean. They don't need tooth paste quite yet. And it's not safe because they just swallow it.
Make it a game. I tell my kids, ';let me see the sugar bugs'; Then I say things like ';OH, look that one is dancing...oh my I think that one waved at me...hello sugar bug';
Or I have tried playing the froggy game. I say ';Ahomp, caught a fly. Now your turn, Ahomp you caught one too, yummy, OK again'; Then you just quickly get in there and softly clean a little each time.
If they are just too young to understand then do it while they are sleeping with a warm wet rag or soft brush.
u should wait, but not till he is 3.
i started brushing our kids teeth 2X's a day when they turned 3 months. that is when you can buy that kit that has the brush you put on your finger. so i have never had that problem(have plenty others though!lol!). try letting him brush them, see if he like that. or give him his toothbrush and let him watch you brush your teeth. you have probably already tried this, but that is all i can think of! good luck.
use ur finger if it is that young or a smooth small baby brush
Just watch his diet ,nothing syrupy stay away from sugar as much as possible and teach them to rinse their mouth out as early as possible .And don't let them have a bottle to take to bed .It is as important to take away a pacifier as it is to brush .
My son just chews his toothbrush! Even though he won't let us get in there and do a good job, just letting him hold the brush, and put it in his mouth everyday is making progress. Once they get a bit bigger and you can reason with them (kinda) try taking turns. He brushes, then you brush his teeth...back and forth. At this point make sure you try every day to get him used to the idea...it'll come. My three year old is pretty good about brushing, and we did the same thing with her.
Next time you're at the dentist, ask for their advice on helping him learn.
u don't need to brush it, just grab a clean cloth with warm water and carefully rub his gums.
when he gets to be 1 1/2 make a game out of brushing his teeth. do not use toothpaste though.
you need to start brushing them as soon as you can even if you have to give him the toothbrush to play with until he gets used to it. all the bacteria needs to get off of his teeth so try to give him water at least to help a little with the plaque and gingivitis. good luck!
What worked for me was i would give my daughter my toothbrush to hold while i brushed her teeth with hers. Also let him watch when you brush your teeth. If he thinks its a grown up thing to do, he might want to try it. Use just water NO toothpaste! They'll just swallow it and it can poison them!

Which Eyeshadow Brush Bare Escentuals or Prescriptives?
Hi
I am in the process of purchasing one of the above eyeshadow brushes at a bargain price but don't know which one to choose. I understand they are both fluffy so would be ideal for giving a wash of colour.
This is ideal for me as I am not into bold looks and besides I can always build on the colour. Anyone used either of these brushes?. The Bare Escentuals is called ';soft focus';Which Eyeshadow Brush Bare Escentuals or Prescriptives?
While I'm not a fan of Bare Escentuals brushes, I absolutely LOVE the Prescriptives brushes. As a matter of fact, I bought my oldest sister the Prescriptives Expert Brushes Set for Christmas this year.

Manchester United brush aside dismal Chelsea?
So says no lessor luminaries than the BBC - and who am I to argue. We were soundly beaten and I congratulate Manchester United on a very good performance.
But who is to blame?
I want Scolari's head served to me on a silver platter.Manchester United brush aside dismal Chelsea?
I was disheartened. There was no fire. Liverpool have won trophies because they had the fire. Chelsea didn't show the fire that Liverpool showed in Istabul in 2005. Chelsea didn't show the fire Liverpool showed in the 2006 FA Cup Final. It seemed like they just gave up.
Poor John Terry. He was throwing himself all over the place, trying to do his best, and was probably our best player of the night, but he was really up against it. We deserved a whumping really.

The first goal they conceded was from a set piece (how can you concede a disallowed goal and then let one in right after from the same corener kick?), and Ronaldo created their third. What use was that training and that stopping Cristiano stuff?
Avram Grant, even with a not-so-impressive CV, did the job better than Scolari. The resurgence was unbelievable. Chelsea went from outside the Top Four to genuine title contenders, level top on the last day. Not to mention that needed some Drogba and Ballack magic (which Scoalri just can't get) to help us beat Arsenal and United on the way. The difference they overcame that time was far bigger, so I'm still optimistic, but if Scolari keeps this up against Big Four teams... then we might be fighting for the FA Cup as a last resort.
The players are to blame for not executing their training routines well-enough. The manager for not drilling into their skulls well-enough that only a perfect second-half perfomance would suffice.
I'm sure Mourinho was at least disappointed that it wasn't a closer game. After all, not long ago, his Chelsea were regularly banging in 3 goals against United at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge.
One thing's for sure, that feel-good factor about Scolari's appointment is well and truly gone. He'd better deliver.
Grant turned things around at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal with magic substitutions that seemed stupid but worked wonders. It kickstarted a fresh bid for the title that lasted till the final day. Scoalri had better come up with something similar, and he'd better not goof up against Liverpool or Arsenal.Manchester United brush aside dismal Chelsea?
Chelsea had some good chances in the first 15 mins but in the 2nd half it was all United. Chelsea had a full strength team out there, man to man they are better, they miss the defensive cover and dirty work of Essien. Mikel committed way too many fouls and once again 2 goals conceded from set plays.Still a very long to go remember.
lmfao !!!
Reminds me of King Julien of Madagascar 2..
Chelsea were quite good in the first half and were really looking like to score, but none of the midfielders were good in the final 3 and Drogba was bust diving to get fk's.
It was only after manu scored that Chelsea looked deflated and gave up more..
Chelsea are poor in the attacking front and need to buy atleast 1 reliable striker like villa/torres because Drogba is not the same anymore..Evans had defended him so easily.
Btw just hope Essien comes back soon,he might actually turn things around at Bridge..
Silver platters in the shop, you can have this brass one instead.
I was surprised at the way Chelsea just gave up after the second one went in and looked out of it when the first did. It must have sucker punched them and Scolaris words of wisdom obviously had no effect.
No man u did not cheat it was de ref, stupid ref. Still Man u won and i thank you for sayin ';I congratulate Manchester United on a very good performance.'; It very polite of u and everyone loses so Good Luck to ur team next time. And i also want to say congrats to man u for winnin
they done a good job.
Im a Manchester United Supporter
Woooohhhhhooooooo
GoodBye
Your a good sport. I do remember thinking this afternoon that the difference between the teams was that Chelsea didn`t look like they wanted it as much as United.
I said at the start of the season that it was between United and Chelsea and i believe it still is.
that's the civil way to put it
the other is that you ^%26amp;%#%26amp;^%-ed up Liverpool chances by being total @^$%%26amp;@^%
here's your Scolari's head:http://lh3.ggpht.com/_p-mnKaxvb98/RsrGEE…
I am not surprise that Man Utd beat Chelsea 3 - 0...
Chelsea players play badly this season especially the top teams and if U check their record... they scored an average of only 0.8 (not include yesterday match) and an average of only 1 points against the top 6 teams...
Now I am guessing Scolari or Hughes... Who will get the sack 1st... :D
Manchester United have came to play and flogged Chelsea who were abysmal today
Chelsea came and tried to play
Scolari is a lame duck waiting to be sacked
';We were soundly beaten and I congratulate Manchester United on a very good performance.';
I am veryy shocked all i've heard today is ,Manchester United Cheated or It was the Refs Again
I Praise You =]
I think everyones to blame because we know we can beat united but i definitely want scolari out

Whoever let go of Mourinho and then Grant.
I just say chelsea sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
congratulations my foot.
Serves me right for having faith in chelsea!
lmao
I think he got his tactics all wrong
Good on ya to see it.
I liked Grant tbh :/
Turning against your team even though you lost.. We all lose...
I didn't see the game I've only seen the goals and to be honest..... there were all scored in almost the same way..... nothing special, just kick the ball in front of opponents goal and pray that your player gets her.... typical English football!!!!

Do you brush your dogs teeth?
how many people brush their dogs teeth. my 2 dogs have never had their teeth brushed. my 4 year old retriever still has white teethDo you brush your dogs teeth?
brushing teeth often is highly recommended even though many people don't. It's not like the good ole days where no one did. We are a new generation to be pro-active with healthcare to minimize future health problems.Do you brush your dogs teeth?
I brush my dogs teeth once a week, I have to since I feed her a raw diet and there isn't really anything solid for her to crunch in her mouth that can clean her teeth (kibble helps to clean teeth, are you feeding your dog kibble?). Of course I give my dog chew sticks like bullwrinkles and I give her raw meaty bones, but I feel like brushing is very important, it doesn't take much and it helps her teeth to remain healthy.
I brush all my dogs teeth every day, in fact now all I have to do is hold the tooth brush and they move their mouth all around it brushing their teeth as they do so, this is not a chore as the dogs love it as soon as I get the brushes out they come running as they enjoy doing this, it started as a game and continued until they were cleaning their teeth all sides of the teeth get cleaned and they have nice teeth one of my dogs is 14 years old and has strong clean teeth. Cleaning teeth everyday has other health benefits for dogs it is very important to maintain good dental hygiene. A good quality toothpaste made especially for dogs should be used.
If they chew on bones a lot, they may not need to get their teeth cleaned but always have them regularly checked by a vet. I really think that every dog is different. I have not had to have my dog's teeth brushed I think because I have always given him bones and dental chews like Bright Bites to chew on.
Here's some good information on dental care for your dog.
http://www.brightbites.com/dental_notes/
I think as long as the vet gives you the all clear, then you are doing fine :)
i brush my dogs teeth every other day. you can get toothpaste, especially made for dogs. you can also give them treats that help whiten and prevent plaque and bad breath such as greenies, milkbones or a chew toy....
Good luck!
I tryed! Because our neighbors gave us a set that had dog toothpaste and everything. But, the dog didn't like it so I could barely get the brush in his mouth!
Cool question!
Nope we don't have to.
We have a staffie and they chew anything, logs, bones, rubber balls so their teeth are always clean.
Also use a good hard food mixer and give them some everyday.
We brush our dogs teeth about once a week. They haven't had much need for it, because they have kibble and the teeth cleaning treats, but we figure it can't hurt and so we might as well.
yes i do my vet gave me a special tooth paste for my dog she is 5 years old and her teeth are still white too but its supposed to help older dogs keep their teeth stronger and healthy especially if they have had puppies in recent years
With a proper diet, and feeding raw bones, there is no need for brushing their teeth.
Veterinary dental care is a completely different story though.
I brush my moms dogs teeth.Just because they are white does not mean they are healthy your dog can get really bad breath. And soon it's teeth will turn yellow and it will take you months to change it might as well start early.
I do, haven't for a while actually and will do tonight after this reminder! But they looove it, its poultry flavour =p is important gum wise though.
No, I don't actually brush them, but I do use dogs toothpaste in some of their toys which are specifically designed for that purpose.
I dont brush my dog's teeth but I do give her about 3 or 4 dentastix a day which are good for her teeth. After giving her these I saw marked improvement and she loves them also.
No but sometimes his breath smells. Instead we give him lots of bones and things to chew which he loves!
You could brush his teeth occasionaly though and just give him a bone now and again.
Yes,
The only problem is my Dobes love the canine toothpaste so much, they are continuously trying to chew the brush as I try to clean!
I try, not with much luck, my dog has no problems with me brushing her teeth it just getting the brush in her mouth without her tongue licking all the toothpaste off.
No i dont brush my dogs teeth i have a 5 yr old labrador, she has never had her teeth brushed, instead we give her a stick. This acts like a tooth brush and cleans her teeth!
No- but I should. I have trouble getting my toddler to brush her teeth at least once a day. Getting my dogs comfortable with teeth brushing should be my next goal though.
They won't sit still long enough for me to even try...so I usually buy those bones that are made for tarter protection and other dental purposes....My lab who is 7 years still has white teeth...but bad breath!!!!
We had to brush our last dogs teeth cause she was so old that it was the only way of keeping them healthy (she couldn't chew bones and stuff at her age)
no and i dont think you have to espeshaly if your dog still has whight teeth
It depends.
I sometimes brush my dogs teeth, he doesnt really mind he is a bit fidgity though.
But it's only if they need brushing.
I used to before I lost my dogs. At least once every 2 weeks! It can be hard to get your dogs to keep still to start with but they do get used to it!
No
I know you shoukd but they hate it and I'm sceptical about it...surely gnawing a bone is better than a crappy little toothbrush??
I use dentatix too sometimes!
I sure do, especially when thier breathe smells like they had a giant turd for breakfeast.
you can get treats that help keep their teeth clean
i guess you could, but when you give them rawhides or other chews it helps there teeth
YES, every night. My vet gave me this spray that really cut the time in 1/2 and made it less stressful on my dogs too.
yes i do, and you should but if you cant geta denti stick they love them
I dont.

I have to vaccum everyday. I becoming a prisoner in this house trying to keep it hair free. HelpI have four dogs and two cats. My home is full of pet hair. I brush them outside daily, to no avial.?
I would reccommend the Furminator brush, you should be able to find it at your local pet store. It works wonders on all 7 of my dogs AND my 4 cats.. It's a big expencive though.I have four dogs and two cats. My home is full of pet hair. I brush them outside daily, to no avial.?
If you love animals, you deal with pet hair.
Collect all the fur and make pillows.
No, I'm serious! You'd be amazed at how much your pets will love to lay on them.
Outside, do you let the fur fly? Birds love to stuff their nests with fur. We have birds who usually fly South stay for the winter because of their fur-lined nests.
No matter what you do, you'll have fur everywhere. Get a few lint brushes (I prefer the cheap tape kind) to take with you everywhere so you can de-fur yourself before going into work or the grocery store.
Enjoy your pets and don't worry about the inevitable.
I am really not sure what you expect!
I have 2 cats and a dog all live indoors and i have hair everywhere too! I clean as much as i can but still enjoy my animals.
Hair is a part of pets...you have to put up with it or think about re-homing your pets.
No matter how much you brush, it is inevitable that some fur will wind up in the house. It just comes with the territory.
LOL
While growing up my parents always had a house full of animals. In fact...my parents have 3 dogs now as well as 1 cat. They are really good at controlling odor BUT hair is the one thing that is hard to keep up with. My mom vacuums twice a day to keep it down. I can imagine you are just going to have to step up the vacuuming. After-all...if you vacuum it up, it won't be there anymore.
Shave them all.
what do you expect? you have 6 animals with fur.
keep brushing!
You should have them groomed at least one time every spring. A professional groomer has tools to help shed that winter undercoat. Yes, both cats and dogs get this. Then you can continue your brushing at home as needed. This will cut down your shedding substantially. I know it a little costly but it is worth the investment in the long run. Think of your Sanity! ;-)

If I brush my teeth before I do wudu, will my reward for namaz increase by 70 times?
My mullah let me borrow one of his namaz books, and in it I read that if you use a miswak before you do wudu, your reward will increase by 70.If I brush my teeth before I do wudu, will my reward for namaz increase by 70 times?
Yes, that is true.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, 'Had I not thought it difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the Miswak (tooth-stick) before every Salat.' (Source:Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
Using Miswak is a really good thing, there are many advantages such as:
1. Miswaak strengthens the gums and prevents tooth decay.
2. Miswaak assists in eliminating toothaches and prevents further increase of decay which has already set in.
3. Miswaak creates a fragrance in the mouth.
4. Miswaak is a cure for illness.
5. Miswaak eliminates bad odors and improves the sense of taste.
6. Miswaak sharpens the memory.
7. Miswaak is a cure for headaches.
8. Miswaak creates lustre (noor) on the face of the one who continually uses it.
9. Miswaak causes the teeth to glow.
10. Miswaak strengthens the eyesight.
11. Miswaak assists in digestion.
12. Miswaak clears the voice.
13. The greatest benefit of using miswaak is gaining the pleasure of Allah.
14. The reward of Salaah (Prayers) is multiplied 70 times if Miswaak was used before it.If I brush my teeth before I do wudu, will my reward for namaz increase by 70 times?
Yes its true
Other Benefits of The miswaak is...
It is a means to cleanse the mouth, attain the pleasure of Allah, enjoyment for the angels, improvement for the sight, removes foul smell and yellowness, whitens the teeth, strengths the gums, digests the food, eliminates phlegm, increases the reward of salat by many folds, clears the recitation of the Qur鈥檃n, increases in eloquence of speech, strengths the stomach, angers Satan, increases the rewards, reduces bile, eases the veins on the head and, eases the pain of toothache, freshens the breath, makes it easy for the soul to depart.
I
n the kitaab Nahr it is written that its benefits reach more then thirty in number. The least one being to abstain from causing any difficulty upon others and the greatest one being able to recite the Shahada (testimony of faith) at the time of death.
Your teeth may also fall off 20 years earlier becausing of reseding
gums from brushing five times a day.
You might not get the same amount of reward as using a miswak but since your intention is noble inshallah Allah will reward you for the pain you will take in cleaning your teeth before each namaaz.
Oh my goodness, this question is hilarious!
that wud be miswaak or siwaak not any toothpaste such as crest or coolgate.
not true
wha?
lol thats cool!!
i did not know that :)
Yes, that is true.

Can I brush my teeth with new braces?
I JUSTTTT got them. If i brush my teeth will the wire snap or will one of the brackets come off? Im curious because i dont want to drive all the way back to the orthodontist. Can I brush my teeth with new braces?
You can brush all you want and they won't come off or break a wire.
If there is an air bubble beneath the bracket, or the tooth wasn't fully dry when they put the braces on, a bracket may come off. But brushing should be the least of your worries. If it's loose enough to come off or snap, there's nothing much you can do to prevent it.
It's not likely that a wire will snap or bracket will come off though.
No worries! Can I brush my teeth with new braces?
Now is the time you need to brush the most! The adhesives that are used are set before you leave the orthodontist's office. If you loosen something by brushing,it was not the brushing that did it and it would have come off any way.
Brush your teeth very well and use a floss threader to clean under the wires.Maybe next time you go to the orthodontist, have them show you how to keep everything as clean as possible.
Do not be afraid to brush,if you don't keep your mouth clean, you can get decay and gum issues.
Yes, definitely okay! You just have to be really super careful because the glue that is holding your brackets on is still drying, and they are in a really fragile state right now, lol. I'd say you probably shouldn't eat anyting that would stain or get really stuck in your braces right now, like coffee and tea and really tough meat, because your teeth are probably going to get sore soon and they would be really painful to brush! I lived off the mashed potatoes and water diet for the first three days, my mouth was really sore. Good luck with your braces!
Nope, you have to let your teeth rot. Just kidding! It is very important to brush, and I can tell you I have found some great things to help. Go to Wal-Mart (or a similar store) and find G-U-M pics which can reach some of the back teeth. Oral-B Superfloss (it just makes it so much easier, and it is so important to floss your teeth), ACT mouthwash, and an Oral-B rechargeable toothbrush (for like $20). This way you make sure that all of your teeth are clean and will not rot :)
Yes you can brush your teeth with braces!
just be careful as they are only just put on!
it may hurt although you can!
hope i helped
:)
Yeah you can, just make sure you don't brush too hard.
ofcourse. just be sure ur toothbrush has soft bristles and be careful enough..the minty feeling will make your teeth less painful for a while

Where could i buy fire jeeps or fire brush trucks?
i've seen willeys jeeps that had been converted to fire jeeps, where could i buy one?
same with brush trucksWhere could i buy fire jeeps or fire brush trucks?
Good luck with Willys fire jeeps. Most of these were built by Howe and a couple of other manufacturers after WWII and into the 1950's. They have become very collectable among fire apparatus collectors because the will fit into a standard garage. The classic rig will have a front mounted pump and a ladder rack on the top. Basically this can perform the functions of a fire truck.

I see these come up on ebay and on some of the SPAAMFAA related websites.
http://www.search-rescue.net/tedsengineh鈥?/a>
http://www.spaamfaa.org/
Prepare to pay top dollar for one of these.
Brush trucks are a different matter. My pick would be one built on a military 3/4 ton pickup chassis. Sometimes they are on a regular pick up truck chassis. There are plenty of these out there. Most of the time they are just a tank and a gas powered pump. Some depts do go all out with them but many times these would be provided to rural departments by state forestry departments. These also show up on ebay from time to time and sometimes along side fire stations with for sale signs on them.
Beware buying one of these if you don't have any mechanical skill because they are abused when in service.
Good luck and hope this helps.caption glycolic acid peel

My breath always smell bad in the morning, sometimes for hours after, even if I brush.?
It doesn't seem to smell after I eat though. I've never been tested for anything like diabeties either. What could I do to stop this? Please and thankyou. My breath always smell bad in the morning, sometimes for hours after, even if I brush.?
A lot of bad breath has to do with what you have (or have not )eaten before you went to bed the night before. Some foods cause bad breath, such as onions, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, sugary foods, and alcohol. Not eating also can cause bad breath. You could have some dental problems causing the bad breath as well. I would recommend you see your dentist and have his hygienist clean your teeth, especially if it has been a long time since you have had this done. Get the teeth x-rayed to rule out decay and/or periodontal disease (gum disease), and ask them about a healthy diet. When you brush your teeth (at least 2-3 times a day and most importantly at night before going to bed) also brush your tongue. A lot of bacteria is in the tongue. I hope this helps! :-)My breath always smell bad in the morning, sometimes for hours after, even if I brush.?
You digestive bacteria may be out of whack. Try eating yogurt with live avtive cultures every day or taking acidophillus capsules daily and see if that helps after a week or so. Also use mouth wash like listerine every night and every morning.
Brush with TOOTHPASTE. And preferably every day.
go to the dentist and ask
You could have a sinus infection, or even gum disease.
sherri - in the morning and before bed after brushing, flossing use Hydrogen Peroxide as your mouth wash. Hydrogen Peroxide kills the bacteria in the mouth that causes bad breath and cavities. You can buy hydrogen peroxide (3% in the brown bottle) at your local drugstore for about $2 for a 32 ounce bottle. Mix 陆 ounce hydrogen peroxide with 陆 ounce hot water and swirl in your mouth for about 1 minute. Spit out (DO NOT SWALLOW) and then rinse your mouth out several times with cool water. A 32 ounce bottle will last about one month.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day...not drinking enough water causes dry mouth which causes more bacteria to grow. Also, if you like, drink Green Tea. Green tea is an antioxidant and it kills the bacteria in the mouth that causes bad breath and cavities.
Instead of using breath mints or chewing gum, suck on zinc tablets (like Cold Eeze - use the sugar free). The zinc kills the bacteria that causes bed breath.
Finally, go to the dentist and make sure you don't have any cavities. The bad breath bacteria THRIVE on cavities!
.
My breath is the same...
The kind of toothpaste really doesnt change it either lol.
Make sure you brush your tounge and back of tounge good. And make sure you gargle in the morning; if you have no mouthwash gargle with toothpaste water; it spreads the smell of it.
You May Have Halitosis...
try flossing it could really help
brush and floss before sleeping
you need to figure out what is the cause of your bad breath. you need the help of a dental expert to know what is the cause of your bad breath.
bad breath cause can be caused by dry mouth, gum disease, sinusitis, poor oral hygiene, eating a garlicky meal and stomach related problems. identifying the cause can help sought a good bad breath treatment.
a good program of oral hygiene can contribute to the elimination of bad breath as well as the bad bacteria that causes it. it seems that bad breath is nothing more than a dirty mouth.
visit http://www.oramd.com for more bad breath care tips.
Try brushing your tongue, or buy a tongue scraper. Besides that, try to floss and use mouthwash every day. If it still continues, ask your doctor about it.
Listerine, see a dentist pronto! halitosis is a disease, kidney and other organ problems can cause health problems too.
Well there's a home remedy, take a clove of (I know when I heard it 1st I couldn't believe it) garlic and swallow it like a capsule with a drink, DO NOT CHEW. That will take care of the gases emmiting from the abdominal cavity, which usually cause the ';smell';
Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth. Tea tree oil can also cure gum disease, which is possibly the cause of your bad breath. More useful remedies at

Listerine, see a dentist pronto! halitosis is a disease, kidney and other organ problems can cause health problems too.
Well there's a home remedy, take a clove of (I know when I heard it 1st I couldn't believe it) garlic and swallow it like a capsule with a drink, DO NOT CHEW. That will take care of the gases emmiting from the abdominal cavity, which usually cause the ';smell';
Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth. Tea tree oil can also cure gum disease, which is possibly the cause of your bad breath. More useful remedies at

Can you brush your teeth too much?
I brush my teeth several times a day. Maybe three to four times. I know most people do it once or twice a day. Can you brush your teeth too much? If so what happens if you do?Can you brush your teeth too much?
Several times a day is fine, so long as you don't brush too hard.
And don't forget to floss :]Can you brush your teeth too much?
Daisey,
As a matter of fact brushing your teeth incorrectly and too hard can be harmful to your teeth. For example to brush as often as you're brushing, please use a very soft brush. Please don't bear down and scrub around the edges of your gums, as it will wear the enamel away.
I should know I did this to myself, which required expensive enamel fillings on gum line..I wasn't warned to use a soft toothbrush. Most people should use ';Soft bristle Brushes';. Enamel on teeth is precious and pure as gold. We only have this one set of teeth. Taking care of them is so important.
Brushing after meals isn't excessive. Please make it a practice to do it correctly all your life.
Blessings%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;:)
no i dont think you can brush your teeth too much if you drink too much soda or something then you might be doing harm to your teeth
i don't know about too much but you can too hard. if you brush too hard it'll start to ware away the enamel on your teeth.
no. its actually great that u do brush that much. keep doing it!

Why do people say:';It麓s good to brush your teeth when you don麓t wanna get hungry';?
...I become very hungry after brushing my teeth!! Why that??Why do people say:';It麓s good to brush your teeth when you don麓t wanna get hungry';?
Toothpaste puts a new flavor in your mouth ... I sometimes find myself less hungry if I just chew a piece of gum or brush my teeth to leave my mouth feeling like it has had something.
Some people get ';hungry'; because they are bored. Brushing your teeth gives you something to do. (although, the excitement of fresh breath can only last so long)
Also, a lot of people don't think that food tastes as good after brushing their teeth. I personally can't stand the taste of an orange after brushing mine! If something isn't going to taste good, why would you be hungry for it?
There's also probably some psychological thing to it. If you were raised to brush your teeth after breakfast and after dinner, you have trained your mind to associate the act of brushing your teeth with the idea that food time is over.
Brushing my teeth rarely changes my state of actual hunger, but it can curb cravings. In the mornings, I can't eat breakfast before brushing. Why would I want to swallow all of those morning breath causing bacteria? ... Later in the day, after there is actually food in my tummy, brushing cures extra cravings.
I'm not sure why you become very hungry after brushing your teeth. Maybe you were already hungry to start with? Or perhaps you like the flavor of your toothpaste and it just kinda ';warms you up'; for something else.

India ink, brush pen and ';biggie'; sketch pad?
I am yearning to try a little sketching with small brushes, regular india ink and the cheap ';biggie'; sketch pads - all readily available and cheap. The plan is to trace a few lines in pencil, then go over those lines with expressive brush strokes. Got any tips for me? Never tried this before.India ink, brush pen and ';biggie'; sketch pad?
Just take your time and don't rush it. Be sure it is all planned out before you use the ink. Cause you can't erase ink.
Good Luck and enjoy.

How to brush your teeth?
Okay so i been too the dentist and their is always other types of methods too brush your teeth correctly
Example: Brush in circles on every tooth for 2minutes.
What method do you use?How to brush your teeth?
brushing in circles is probably the best method, but you don't have to brush every teeth for 2 min!!! It should take about 2min to brush all your teeth!
Now, brushing in circles is good. even though the move is circular try to emphasize on moving the toothbrush down for your upper teeth, and up for your lower teeth so that food comes out... that's when you brush your teeth from the one side or the other
When you brush them on the chewing surface, you don't need to do it in circles, just back and front will do... that is for the back teeth.
Also, do brush your gums without applying a lot of pressure (because they are more sensitive than the teeth) with the same circular moves. How to brush your teeth?
Brush all your teeth then brush in the inside end the outside and then your done but you have to do it for 2 min. and if you don't know how long two minutes is then say the ABC's 3 times in your head.make sure to use mouth wash.

Best round brush to blow dry hair?
I have long hair and last time I went to the salon they blow dried my hair with a round brush and I learnt a few things. However I don't have a round brush and was wondering what would be a good one to buy. I am not going for crazy expensive, I actually want to stay on the cheaper side. If you think it really doesn't matter on the brand could you please supply me with a picture of the round brush you suggest, because I have seen different types and bristles.
I will be using it to straighten my curly hair. Thanks to everyone!Best round brush to blow dry hair?
The name ';round brush'; describes itself but the most important thing to realise about it is that it's not just for creating curl. The more open bristle type is used for achieving maximum height and lift. The densely packed real bristle round brush is great at smoothing and straightening your hair with the tension needed for hair that naturally has a wave or curl. The size of the brush you need depends on the length of your hair and the effect you want. Your hair needs to be long enough to rap around the brush once. As a general guide:
* For short hair (up to 15 cm or 6';) the center barrel of the brush should be approximately 3cm or 1'; diameter or less.
* For mid length hair (15 to 20 cm or 6 to 8';) the center barrel of the brush should be approx. 3 to 4 cm or 1'; to 1 1/2'; diameter.
* For long hair (20cm or 8'; plus) the center barrel of the brush should be approx. 4cm or 1 1/2'; diameter plus.
These are only rough guides and for all our brushes they we stock are classed small, medium and large for a simple choice for your needs.
To get it right with a round brush:
* You need to practice, but think of the workout your arms are getting!
* Invest in some sectioning clips, so that you can work with only a small piece of hair at a time.
* Angle the flow of air from your dryer, so that it flows from roots to ends, (not across or back towards your head, therefore making the hair frizzy).
* Next time ask your hairdresser to give you a demo on how to do it then ask them to watch you and put you right. They really won't mind showing you.
If you have tried a round brush and it failed to straighten your hair effectively there is this great new brush on the market that is easy to use at home. It looks like a pair of tongs with bristles facing towards each other. You simple clasp a section of hair near the scalp between the bristles and then dry your hair as you slide the brush through the hair towards the ends.

Should I use my pre-brush listerine and my regular listerine when I brush my teeth?
Would it be proper to use both listerines when I brush?
the pre-brush one whitens my teeth and it gets rid of bad breath germs.
the regular listerine kills bacteria.. etc.Should I use my pre-brush listerine and my regular listerine when I brush my teeth?
That should be okay to use.
However, once you use the whitening one and then go for the regular one, the colored liquid has to be brushed off right away.
Otherwise, your teeth will get stained again.
Here are some tips for bleaching your teeth :
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>Should I use my pre-brush listerine and my regular listerine when I brush my teeth?
You are not going to cure bad breath with listerine. Yes, it will cover up bad breath for a short time but it will not cure bad breath because bad breath is caused by bacteria on the tongue. You can see this bacteria as ';white stuff';, especially on the back of your tongue. This white stuff must be clean off in order ot cure bad breath. Even if listerine does kill some bacteria it does not sterilize your mouth and it does not remove the plaque that has been building up on your tongue.
You can use listerine, but also clean your tongue. Both together will do a great job. I use OraBrush tongue cleaner. I have had it for 5 months and it really works great.caption glycolic acid peel

Will paint thinner damage paint brushes if its used to remove dry paint from the brush?
Yes you can let them soak in minneral spirits without any harm, just watch that your solvent doesn't evaporate away..But if they are too far along it wouldn't do any good.Try to keep any wooden handle out of the liquid if possible this applies when using water as well.. They sell devices for hanging the brushes from while they soak. But it's just as easy to rig something up.And this will also help keep the bristles from attaining a permanent bend from resting on the bottom the container. Over time paint will built up in the heel of the bristles and the ferrule ,the metal part that holds the bristles together and joins them to the handle. Once I finish clearing brushes in a solvent or even water for that matter. I'll sometimes use some soap and water on them just to get any solvent or any remaining loose dead paint out. If they were really bad off I might use an old tooth brushes to sort of comb them to remove any dead paint. Then depending on the type of brush, will shape the bristles into their original shape and allow them to dry this way. Will paint thinner damage paint brushes if its used to remove dry paint from the brush?
Aye....my goodness! That made me cringe a little. Well, what kinda paint is it to begin with? Please step away from the thinner with the brushes until you try the old fashioned soap and water trick, please. I have dealt with paintbrushes since I could pick up one and washing your brushes is as important as painting with them! If they are actual hair brushes they can be totally ruined, if they are artificial then they can just melt in the thinner. If the paint was water-based you don't need thinner, you just need to let them soak for a bit in soapy water and keep checking on them and rinsing them out in warm (not hot) water. If they are artist brushes, the same thing goes, you just have to be much more delicate with them. If you want, email me!! I'll walk you through the CPR steps of paint brushes. You may need spirits, you may need minerals, you may just need soap water. Either way, you have some work ahead of you. Will paint thinner damage paint brushes if its used to remove dry paint from the brush?
No. all it is, is a type of oil.

Why do your teeth bleed when you brush?
my teeth bleed when i brush why?Why do your teeth bleed when you brush?
You may be lacked on Vit.AWhy do your teeth bleed when you brush?
either you brush too hard or it's your gum.
1. Either you are brush too hard -or-
2. Your brush isn't soft enough -or-
3. You do not floss
Everybody needs to floss. At least once daily. That type of gum bleeding happens when your immune system is trying to push the germs from your gum line out of the body. Start flossing, and this should disappear within 2-3 days.
you have some form of gum disease. dont panic it affects 98% of us at some stage. get a dentist to examine you to grade its severity. it is most likely t be mild but DO get it checked.
most people brush the teeth but miss out the gums, clean more on the gumline itself, do your teeth in sequence not willy nily. spend 2 minutes on it. you might get more bleeding short-term but ths should stop after af ew days.
now you also need to floss daily. only 5%uk people do. the bit of gum betwwen your teeth will continue to have problems if you miss this bit out. you must do daily. do a search to find out how.
you are either brushing to hard or your toothbrush it to hard
Have this looked at. My teeth never bleed from brushing. You might be brushing too hard or have gum diesease.
you could either have sensitive gums. or you brush too much or not enough. but my dentist told me that if i bleed when i floss then im not flossing often enough
your gums bleed, its because you have plaque a small case of gingivitis. when you brush your teeth, gently brush your gums as well. i had the same problem, my dental hygentist told me to do that and it helped
i had that same problem...i asked me dentist and he said that i either brush to hard or there is too much plaque.
Because your gums are infected and you probably don't floss.
Most likely you have gingivitis, a disease of the gums caused by bacteria. (See Wikipedia for more info on gingivitis.)
The first thing you should do, if you have access to dental insurance, is make an appointment with a dentist. Ask friends and colleagues for referrals or check ratemd.com for a good dentist.
If you don't have dental insurance, you might want to consider purchasing a dental discount plan (research online). If you have gingivitis, it very likely that you have cavities also (which will cause you major problems if left untreated).
If you rather handle things yourself, I suggest that you do the following:
-Floss once a day (at night, after your last meal): Your gums will bleed at first, but within a week the bleeding should be nearly if not completely gone.
-Brush twice a day (in the morning and at night, after your last meal or drink): Brush your teeth to the gum line using circular motions. Change your brush if it's more than 3 months old or if the bristles are very bent.
-Rinse with Listerine or a capful of Hydrogen Peroxide and mouthwash before brushing, but after flossing.

Do Anorexics teeth/gums bleed when they brush the teeth ?
Like when they spit out the toothpaste to rinse there mouth, and its red/pink with blood.Do Anorexics teeth/gums bleed when they brush the teeth ?
hiya, yes it can, but it can also be gum disease.get it check out with your doctor,so you can get the right medicine.Do Anorexics teeth/gums bleed when they brush the teeth ?
if you're anorexic you aren't getting enough calcium and over a period of months they will go yellow and become very weak, anorexics often have very poor teeth and lose them prematurely. Bulimics who throw up alot cause acid erosion and there teeth just rot.
Their gums could bleed. A cause of that could also be gingivitis. That will weaken the gums. Also, gums may bleed if a person is a very infrequent flosser. Anything that may weaken gums can lead to bleeding when brushing.
yes.
especially if they're bulimic also; meaning they puke/throw up after they eat.
its caused by lack of nutrition and poor hygiene.
um... well, that hasn't happened to me, anyway... yet.
Yes. Scurvy and other diseases wil cause such stuff. Caused by bad diets.
They can bleed.
What Robert said.

My hair comes off in my brush - will I go bald?
I've just recently started brushing my hair back in the shower, as I'm growing it long for the first time, and I seem to get a lot of stray hairs caught in the brush. How much hair would I have to be pulling out daily before it made a difference? My hair comes off in my brush - will I go bald?
Some hair loss is normal. Your barber or hairdresser (if properly trained) can tell you if it isn't.My hair comes off in my brush - will I go bald?
Yes
you're not going bald darling...it's natural, hair comes out so new healthy hair can come in...hundreds of hairs fall out everyday...trust me, it's normal.
it's best to brush your hair before you take a shower so hair doesn't go down the drain...but i comb my hair in the shower to, but you have to use a wide toothed comb or it breaks your hair. never brush your hair wet, comb it!
It's lookin' like you're baldin', Pal!
i think thisis somewhat common for a lot of people with long hair. However, i think tha when you are doing it in the shower and your hair follicles are heated, you might be pulling more hair out then brushing it when out of the shower.
Wow Someone up there has to much time on there hands! LOL
You won't go bald..At least not yet! LOL
You tend to lose hair on a daily basis..Everyone does. You are just noticing now because your hair is longer!
not necessary you go bald, maybe product youre using doesnt suit your hair, changed it then. psychological situation plays a big role in falling hair.
Brushing won't make you bald, because what you lose will grow back, unless going bald is in your genes.
you never stated if your male or female but i shed alot of hair everyday and i would think i was bald but not. you lose thousands of hairs a day so it is normal.
Hair has to come off so that new one can grow. And yes we all go bald at one time or another. Although some people do not at all; so, han in there.
my hair is exactly the same and it has been for all of my life! i shouldnt worry about it because i lose so much and u can see it all over my dressing table. I doubt thet you will go bald x
we loose up to 1000 hairs a day they fall out to make room for more hair growing in you wont go bald my hair is about 10 inches past my shoulders and when im in the shower and i condition my hair i get tons of hair that falls out then when i brush my hair when i get out i loose even more...my bf gets mad at me because i clog the drain lol but its definatlly normal dont worry start worring if you see bald patches lol which probably wont happen! good luck with growing your hair out!
Hair, like human beings, has a life-cycle. Every hair that grows must fall out one day. New hair will grow at the same place, after some time.
There is a natural balance between the rate at which hair falls and the rate at which new hair grows. Any disturbance in this balance can result in an emotionally discomforting condition of either an excess fallout of hair or hairiness all over the body.
Now-a-days, excess loss of hair is very common. It happens for various reasons such as emotional and physical stress of city life, local scalp infection, adverse drug reaction, hormonal imbalances during teenage and pregnancy, etc.
Factors that determine hair loss
Over the past several years, dermatologists have made some interesting statistical findings that explain the pattern of hair loss. Curiously enough, the phenomenon of falling hair is provenly related to the rate of hair growth, length of the hair, age and even the color of hair.
It is normal to shed from 50 to 80 strands of hair a day. It is normal for each of those hair to be replaced by the hard-working follicles. On any given day, about 90% hair are in the growing stage. This period lasts for about 1000 days. 10% hair are in the resting stage which lasts for about 100 days before the follicles eventually grow out.
Interestingly, the fall-out occurs mostly in the morning. This fact remains unexplained.
The length of hair is an important factor in hair loss. The four-inch long hair, loses on an average 87 hairs a day; the 12-inch long hair loses about 26 hairs a day; and 20-inch plus long hair loses as little as 16 hairs a day on an average. The longer the hair, the less is the hair loss.
Hair grows on an average of 6 inches a year, and shortfall in the normal hair growth is accompanied with a hair loss too. Apart from the day-to-day loss, we shed more than usual hair during six periods of our life; from birth to age three; at ten, at twenty-two, around the age of twenty-six, at thirty-six and around fifty-four. This happens due to hormonal changes that occur in our bodies during these periods of our lives.
The maximum hair growth on women occurs between the age of fifteen to thirty.
Causes for excess fall of hair
Technically, an unnatural excess fall out of hair, temporary or permanent, is called Alopecia and is caused for following reasons:
Heriditary
The kind of hair we have whether it is thick, thin, fine, sparse, straight or curly - depends a great deal on the genes inherited. The problems concerning hair loss are also passed on from the parents to the offspring. Diabetes and thyroid disorders are two real threats to healthy hair. Falling hair are also often directly inherited.
Trauma
The result of physical stress on the hair is called Traction Alopecia. This can be caused by tying up the hair in too tight chignon style, ponytails, or pigtails. The prolonged and continuing pull-like pressure on the hair can result in spot baldness.
Spot baldness is also caused due to trauma or sudden shock experienced. A severe blow to the head may lead to spot baldness where the blow is received.
Local Scalp Infection
Bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause spot fall out of hair. It can, however, be treated with medicated shampoos and lotions.
Diseases
Internal disorders and infections which cause high fever such as flu, pneumonia and typhoid are often accompanied by excessive hair loss.
Chemicals or Drugs
Antibiotics and a durg called Cortizone administered sometimes in treating acne and scars lead to hair loss. Chemical therapies given in serious diseases such as cancer, cause the excess fall out of hair.
Emotional or Environmental Stress
People unable to cope with pressures of life, all the time worrying about the problems at work place or home, having most of their emotional conflicts unresolved, are easy victims of excess hair loss.
With the tension in their minds, the muscles in the scalp and neck constrict. The blood circulation is thereby impeded, resulting in the suffocation of the hair follicles.
To prevent the consequential excess hair loss, massage to loosen up the scalp is an excellent remedy.
Hormonal Imbalances and Hair Loss
Hormonal imbalances are the primary cause of most serious hair loss conditions. Pregnancy, contraception with birth control pills and menopause are the common conditions that induce hormonal changes.
Pregnancy
Generally, the hair condition improves during pregnancy as the endocrine glands function at their peak.
The hair loss occurs only after the birth of the baby. This happens due to irregularity in the functioning of thyroid glands. It can be attributed to the change in the life style - the new unaccustomed life with the baby.
The normal hair loss after delivery happens four months after birth and continues for about two months.
Birth Control Pills
If a woman in perfect health with normal weight, having regular periods, eating sensibly and physically active, uses the pill for contraceptive reasons, she can expect the problem of hair loss. Taking the pill can alter her perfect hormonal balance.
In contrast if, however, a woman who is already suffering from hormonal imbalance takes the pill, it can restore the balance and promote hair growth.
Menopause
One of the problems of menopause is that the production of the female hormone estrogen slows down. This results in weak, dry hair and an excess fall out in one out of two women.
How to Prevent Excess Fall Out of Hair
Hair in normal and healthy conditions does not fall out at an alarming rate. The excess fall out occurs mostly when the hair condition is extremely dry, rough and damaged.
Conditioning and nourishing of hair are the top priorities to prevent excess hair loss. Cream rinses help the dry and rough hair to regain its flexibility. Generous application of moisturisers and oil preparations replenish the moisture and oil in the dry hair.
Massage is a very important element of the scalp treatment to control excess fall out of hair. It invigorates the blood circulation, giving hair an increased supply of nutrition and oxygen for healthy growth. Massage also stimulates the dormant hair follicles to grow fresh hair.
The Home-made Cosmetic Care
Try these age-old treatments.
The Hair Rejuvenating Ointment
Powder 10 gms each of lime seeds and black pepper. Make a fine paste in plain water or if possible in ginger juice. Apply this paste on the head every night. Leave it on for at least a couple of hours. Then rinse it out. Massage your scalp with your finger tips for five minutes while applying the paste.
(Note: Application of the above paste may irritate your scalp. If you have sensitive skin, reduce the quantity of the ingredients.)
The Magic Treatment for Spot Baldness
* Make a paste with a few small sticks of Mulathi in milk cream. Add a little saffron and apply it on the bald patches at night. Rinse it out with clear water in the morning. If possible, mix some ground Dhatura seeds in the paste. It increases the potency of the treatment. Massage your bald scalp spot generously with your finger tips for five minutes while applying the ointment.
The Wonderful Oil Massage
* Castor oil is excellent for hair re-growth. If combined with white iodine which is available at the chemist shop, it can produce the desired results.
* Part your hair in small sections and apply the oil to the scalp with cotton. Massage it in with your finger tips. If you are able to get white iodine solution, use it similarly on every alternate day.
* Squeeze the milk out of 1/2 a coconut, add the juice of half a lime and massage into the scalp. Leave on for 4 - 6 hours. Wash with a mild shampoo or crushed Hibiscus leaves mixed with a tablespoon of crushed fenugreek seeds and made into a paste.
Do's and Don'ts
* In case of baldness due to fungal, viral or bacterial infections, consult a dermatalogist.
* Use a soft brush with well-spaced bristles.
* Sanitise your implements, i.e. brushes, combs, etc. atleast once a week.
* Take iron tablets in case you are anaemic.
* Improve the protein content of your diet.
* Take birth control pills with a prescription.
The most important aspect of any treatment is the correct diagnosis. Unless it is well determined by observing the physical characteristics and studying the other causes for hair loss, the treatments given may not work efficaciously. It is advisable to seek professional help in cases of severe hair loss.

When can my five year old brush her teeth on her own?
have been brushing my daughters teeth for her and then putting more tooth paste on the brush and letting her brush her teeth on her own (with not alot of tooth paste the second time). When can she start brushing her teeth on her own. This is a real question. She is my first and only child and usually I ask you guys when I need advice. Thank youWhen can my five year old brush her teeth on her own?
my daughters 4 and i brush her teeth then after i let her do it in front of a mirror to practice, we also use an egg timer so she gets used to how long to brush. i will prob do this until 6 or 7 but your dentist should be able to advise you. ;))When can my five year old brush her teeth on her own?
She should have been brushing her own teeth a long time ago. Take her to a dentist appointment %26amp; let the dentist show her how to brush her teeth. He'll probably give her some cool mouth wash that turns her plaque blue or pink so she'll see where she needs to focus her brushing. Get her a cool toothbrush. Give her this one responsibility. She'll be fine.
The Regional health office is my community suggests that children are ready to brush their own teeth when they have the strength and manual dexterity to tie their own shoelaces (around 7 years old). Until then, you should brush their teeth and then allow them to brush their own teeth so they get the practice. That's what we're doing with my 4 year old.
she should have been going to the dentist by the age of 3 and they will show her how to brush them and she will get a new tooth brush that she will love to brush her teeth with. also you can model to her with a doll that has teeth on how to brush them properly and then follow up with flossing.
My son is 6 and I just started letting him brush his own teeth. He brushes them and then I check them, and if he didn't clean them all I will go over them for him. I think that works because he gets happy when I say ';Wow! You did a very good job this time.'; And I think he is learning that way too.
i think you should have the dentist show her how to brush her teeth and teach her about her teeth i think the dentist is the best person to ask about your teeth problems.

How do people that wear braces brush their teeth?
%26amp; no jokes about leg/back braces I mean teeth. How do people that wear braces brush their teeth?
with a toothbrush.
its the exact same but you just half to brush a little harder so you get all the crap from around your brackets off.How do people that wear braces brush their teeth?
the just do, its not as big of a problem as people think. It just takes getting used to. You have to brush a bit lighter I think, and you get an special kind of brush to clean underneath the wire.
With a toothbrush
I used to have braces and you get your toothbrush, tilt it so the bristle bit is facing downwards, then brush the top of the brace. Then tilt it so the bristles are facing upwards then brush the bottom of the brace. You can usually purchase special toothbrushes to clean in between the little metal things and behind the wires. Hope this helps xo
i have braces and you would brush them the same way as you do without them.
i have braces and u brush them the same way u wld without braces. but indtead of brushin over ur teeth u hav 2 also \\brush un der the braces and ur gums to prevnt them from getting swollen
well i move in small circles over each tooth for about 10 seconds(mostly near the gums) then i brush the inside back and forth...i also brush my tongue and the roof of my mouth, my dentist gave me booklets that explains everything...i also floss between each tooth...it takes a while but ill appreciate it in the long run! =)

Its fine...probably tastes pretty awful though. Its what they used before colgate was invented.
