How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?

My daughter is 10 months old and will not open her mouth for me to brush her teeth. I've let her play with her toothbrush so she gets used to it and she let me do it once and seemed to enjoy it but not since. She keeps her lips firmly closed. Help?!!How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?
Buy bubble gum toothpaste for kids. Maybe then if you encourage her that it's bubble gum or fruit flavoured then she'll want to open her mouth. Kids can never say no to sweet tasting bubble gum toothpaste. try any other flavours if you wish. Or a flavour your kid enjoys.How can I brush my baby's teeth?!?

give her a toothbrush to play with.


try brushing with out toothpaste (just water)


try brushing with a tiny hint of childrens toothpaste.


let her brush your teeth





if all else fails, wipe her teeth with a wet washer after her meals instead. And always offer a drink of plain water after everything she eats or drinks. This will help flush away any residue on her teeth.


try the toothbrush saga again next week and see how you go. Until then, a wet washer and drinks of water are your best next thing :)
i let my son watch me while he ';brushes'; his teeth. i make all the funny faces and open wide while i brush so he tries to mimic me. then i brush his teeth. i set him on my lap and open my own mouth wide for him to mimic and growl to get him to close it to brush the outsides. he thinks its so fun, every time he finda a way into the bathroom he asks to brush his teeth!
Use play. Every morning and every evening let her watch you brush your teeth. Then get her to help you to ';brush'; her doll or teddy's teeth. Then get her to brush her teeth or to let you do it. Let her brush yours.


If it starts as play she will soon accept it but it needs to be done regularly over a few days before she gets the message. In a couple of weeks time she will expect this as part of her routine.
It only needs to be able 20 seconds long.





You NEED to brush her teeth, or she'll regret it later, but remember, the time you REALLY have to brush her teeth, is when all of her milk teeth fall out and her real teeth come... Good Luck!
Babys have milk teeth. They all fall when the child is about 6 years old.





You donot have to brush baby's teeth, but give him more milk (breast), so his teeth grow stronger.
